Yup, that is it.
Muffin is correct, it is so much more rewarding when you finally see it..

I loved the movie, very intense, and i can't stop thinking about it. I'm definately going to see it again. Yes,there were some good shots of the monster, but i really wanted more. I'm not dissapointed though, the movie worked really well. Very creepy and dark, and really, not particurly what i was expecting, but, i got a fantastic treat anyway. I would suggest seeing it in theatres, because if you were to watch a pirated cam version of this flick, you'd miss half of the movie because of the dark way it was shot, maybe an anti-piracy tactic. Yeah, all in all this movie rocked, and i've got to see it again.

strange audio thing was probaly the pacific bloop, it's one of the things that inspired them to make the movie

I have been doing a google search for "cloverfield monster" and it is amazing how many people swore up and down (even after Abrams said it was something completely new) that it was;

Cthulhu
Godzilla
Voltron
A lion
Orga (monster from Godzilla 2000)

I wish I could meet some of these people face to face and laugh at them (yes, I would laugh at them to their faces).

***EDIT***

Click the link below AT YOUR OWN RISK if you do not want to see the monster in action!!

http://my.break.com/content/view.aspx?ContentID=435291

It is dark and you really cannot make out it's face, but in the theater you can see it clearly.

About the only thing I really liked about this film was the smaller monsters and the fight scenes with the bigger monster..

And those were to short and far between.

I realize that . But what is the Movie about? Whats the significance of the name Cloverfield? I mean That cant be the name of the Monster so what harm is giving us a little premise.
But Yeah I know Hollywood.
All Im saying is that it cant be anything that scary that we hadnt seen before. A Bunch of wasted hype and the Joke will be on us.

Well from the sounds of things, you've made it clear that you think the movie will suck, so no point in you going to see it.

However, the significance of the name cloverfield, apparently it is a level in the Rampage video game. Also according to IMDB: "The title "Cloverfield"; initially just a codename for the movie, is named for the boulevard in Santa Monica where the Bad Robot offices were located during the making of the film."

Not to mention it was the code name for the film. The only reason why they most likely kept the name for the actual release is because the name "Cloverfield" got so much hype behind it, changing it would confuse people and put a dent into sales.

I just got back from seeing it with my brother

We both loved it

To me the most nerve racking part was when they were in Beths apartment trying to get her and if you walked wrong you could of fell out of the window

It does leave it open for a sequal but not like this ...camcorded I don't this can be done twice with out avery good excuse

Were those subcreatures the monsters children or just parasites?

Well from what I understand. And from what Abrahms has said. This monster has been down in that Mariannas? Trench which is the deepest part of the ocean for thousands of years. They've discovered freaky creatures from down there that look completely alien. They're devoid of color and just look nutty. I get the feeling that these were actually barnacle type things that had stuck to it over the thousands of years and when it came up top, the temperature caused them to sort of unthaw and wake up. Hence you have these crab type things no one has ever seen before that emit toxins through their fangs. Like an ocean bound scorpion or Black Widow spider.

Least that is the idea that I came up with.

They could easily do a sequel but yet a sequel. We have seen the average joe version of the events. They could easily follow up with a more traditional movie that covers the exact same events. Just with more traditional naration where it covers the initial attack through to the creature's demise. This film would just be a blip in the actual story. Or just do the same movie using news footage. Go from one bit of news footage to another to tell the whole story.

I can se a sequel done with news cameras filming live.

But if its a regular movie is Lilly in it, she did survive

About Rob anbd Beth maybe one of them died and the other might be in a coma

I have noticed pis more recently in this weekends USA Today

It shows Hud helping Rob and Lilly getting Beth up I wonder if they shot some or all of the movie with regular movie cameras This "Special Edition" could be seen on DVD

Hell I may use this as a sig :P

In all....I honestly dont know how to answer that question. In general I hope that each movie I go to see does not make me regret spending the $9.50 on the ticket and $11. on popcorn and a soda.

I am a insane Godzilla fan not to mention a fan of most of the giant monster films from Japan so I know how "cheazzy" and bad a monster film can be.....but this film didnt even have the charm or campy-ness of the worst Godzilla flick.

To me Cloverfield is to Giant monster films what Hallie Berry's "Catwoman" and Shaquille O'Nea's "Steel" was to comic book movies.

The one thing I will remember taken from the theater experiance was as we were walking out from the theater of the multiplex other doors to other theaters were open and some had the closing credits but the only thing I could hear as I walked torwards the exit on the other side of the multiplex was the closing credits and the Godzilla esque music that was playing

That bit of Godjira score homage was really cool. Since there is no real score to the film I wonder if they will make that bit of music available?

I also like that JJ named the cameraman HUD as a joke since he was our heads up display.

That makes sense to me.

My brother's theory was that the saliva in the parasites were meant for a creature that lived in highly pressurized depths. Maybe to thin the blood of the Cloverfield monster or such and to be bit by them might affect the pressurization or such of our blood to where we would explode. Get Dr. House in here to come up with a theory. I just know it isn't Lupus.

both those were pretty intense, but my biggest "jump" scene was when they first turn on the nightvision

i also gasped when the "ticks" started falling of MGP, realizing that the rumor from a few months ago was true!

What if IS Lupus?

I thought it was a fun movie, I was kinda hoping to see a flaming hobo, (see the movie get the joke). If you watch right before the credits roll, you'll see the creature falling out of the sky as they pan over Coney Island.

Nah at that point I was thinking just walk underneath the damn thing so it doesn't see you

But I think Hud was so scared he couldn't move

Hey where did Rob and Beth go during that scene? How could they of hidden

ahhhh but you should have seen that one coming! The rats running, not to mention how it's normal in movies when you're in the dark and you get yourself a light source there's always something scary there. :P

I couldn't pin it down to one thing exactly, but I did find myself on many occassions not moving. Sometimes with popcorn in hand frozen halfway between the box and my mouth as I wasn't game to move in case I missed something.
