Okay, I know that the Casualty line is coming up soon, but as I was looking through the Crossfire 2 stuff that I just got I noticed the Crossfire 3 with a question mark over it.

I'm sorry if I've missed something due to being gone for so long, but what is Crossfire 3 supposed to be? I know Crossfire 1 was Superion and 2 is obviously for Bruticus, and logic dictates that 3 chould go to Devastator.

Does anyone have any info on this?

Logic would seem to indicate a Crossfire 3 set, but officially no one knows anything about Crossfire 3 other than the question mark image and that it's supposed to come out this year.

I'm going to cuss myself out if Crossfire 3 is for Devastator since I traded mine a while back.

Being that the Crossfire sub-line has been exclusively combiner upgrade sets, I'm inclined to believe that a Crossfire Devastator would be the most requested combiner upgrade set to Fansproject thus far. I know that I've requested this through their "IDEAS" option on their website. I'd love to see what modern liberties they take on the character, what new engineering gimmicks they come up with, but most importantly, the kind of articulation possibilities with the elimination of the flawed core Energon figure. Here's to hyping potential disappointment.

There's two things we know-

1. It's made by Fansproject.

Related to the above, it will be awesome!

It was hinted earlier in the year by seibertron member Venksta that Crossfire 03 has been changed from its original plan due to fan requests and we should not be surprised to first see it in green. So my money and hopes are on Devy.

I have managed to pull together one of each mold from Devy, so if it is like Bruticus I am in the clear.

If it is like Superion, I am TOTALLY SCREWED!!!!!

I am just glad that it's coming after Causality, so I can save up some scratch.

I'm glad that I wasn't going crazy then when I couldn't find news about this set.

It's a good thing that I have almost all of the Energon style combiners except for ROTF Bruticus and that one will be rectified soon.

Does anyone have a Crossfire 1 that they'd like to sell me?

BTW, I went through hell to collect all of the Energon combiners. You'd think Hasbro would have made those easier to acquire due to being so cool in my opinion.

So we've got the hint that Crossfire 3 is green? I'm going to guess Devastator upgrade. I've got both versions so I'm covered no matter what FP plans to do. Now if we can get more info on what this set will look like I'll be happy, but I guess it won't happen until they get the Casualty stuff out of the way.

All of the actually Hasbro products out right now have me tapped out but Crossfire Devastator would be a must. I'm passing on the first two Casualty figures but the notInsecticons are a must. I'm passing on nearly all of DOTM so I'll have time to save up first.

I want those Insecticons as well. They look amazing.

In a way I'm glad that DOTM line is coming out. This gives me the opportunity to get the FP line coming out. Maybe I can find another Devastator so I can get the Crossfire 3....

I actually got screwed on eBay buying my classics Devy. The picture showed everything and description said complete but when he arrived, he was lacking his energon weapons. AKA his hands and feet. So if Crossfire 03 does end up being Devastator I will be very pleased.

Considering that all the combiners that fansproject has worked on have been 5 bot style combiners, it seems likely that they will be ether A: Stunticons, B: Protectobots, C: Terrorcons, D: Technobots,

But at least with Devastator they already have a base to work with. Plus with the TFClub Deva coming out, the last Energon combiner would be an excellent alternative for those of us who want all the combiners to be relatively the same size.

I hope it would be a Defensor built from scratch. I mean when you think about it Fansproject seems to get better with each toy. the went from heads and guns to armor to full on figure what stopping them from making a entire gestault.

It might be that they are trying to fill in some gaps for those that wanted more out of the Energon combiners.

I'm thinking it is going to be for Devastator seeing how FP has a tendency to finish what they start. Remember how everyone was convinced that they weren't going to release City commander in other colors?

I'm thinking once Crossfire is done then we'll see them make a combiner of their own.

They might release an energon color repaint of the munitioner / explorer? Then prolly Devastator.

Well, the plan for Crossfire 3 did not change like I said it might, which was not really any info at all anyways. So its not the obvious guess anymore, for sure.

As well, to remind everyone. At TFCon 2009, in the interview that Seibertron did with FansProject. FP said that Crossfire was a series that was to feature a different designer's work. Crossfire was never said by them to be only combiner related stuff. So for all you guys could find out later, Crossfire 3 could be blitzwing...

okay THAT be awesome a decent update to Blitzwing so we could finish the unholy (in a good way) trio of Decepticon triple changers. ever notice Decepticon subgroup come in three. Reflector, Seekers, Coneheads, Insecticons, strange isn't it.

Hmmm, I'm not writing Devy off just yet. Wouldn't make sense for them to abandon the one Energon combinor that the general consensus of fans want the most.

Didn't FP also show us artwork for thei own idea of a combinor from scratch? The Glacierbots or something?

Yeah, they did show concept art of glacierbots. I honestly hope Crossfire 3 is not an update to the Energon Devastator mold. That set is virtually unsalvageable.

Glacierbots are not part of the Crossfire series. Their designed by the City Commander designer.

As for an Energon Devastator upgrade, I've heard rumors of one group planning to work on it. But its not FP. If that happens, the chances of FP doing their own Energon Devastator upgrade will be 0%. When they released the G3 trailer, the sales were not very good, due to the BTS.Toy trailer. The sales of that affected FP's sales, even to this day. So they no longer will do similar projects as other groups.

That's great news... Classics Devastator is a crap figure I really had no desire in chasing down for ridiculous money...especially since I wouldn't have done so until FP confirmed an upgrade set which would've drove the price up even higher!

Sounds plausible, fansproject would likely suffer a flop, should another group release a similar product... but that's where fansproject could step it up and out do the competition?

The G3 trailer had more features, then the BTS.Toy trailer. But it still didn't sell as well. I think its the only FP product thats been on clearance by online retailers.
