So with Botcon's recent announcement, there came along an image on their website. Looks like Cybertron Defence Red Alert may become Machine Wars Soundwave as many have hoped/suspected.

Well there's no better mold to replicate the look. And it's a pretty great mold, so I look forward to seeing how it turns out. I bet he'll look great next to the original.

I just did and i'll do it again and again until I get me an updated Stalker!

yeah, I'd much rather Stalker. And a proper Skyquake. Of course...it doesn't make a whole lot of difference since I won't be able to get them.

Both the original mold and CD Red Alert are great molds and I look forward to some side-by-sides~!

Besides, the silhouette looks more like the original Stalker than Cybertron Defense Red Alert with the dish on his shoulder. I'm also spotting Skyquake on the right, looking nothing like any toy I've seen thus far.

Now the guy in the middle could be one of the new toys. I have no idea who he's supposed to be though.

I think the guy in the middle is supposed to be either Megatron or Megaplex... which is still a bit confusing given that there seems to be a fallen Galvatron in that pic too.

While I understand not using any UT figures in this year's lineup since they've basically expended most of their good options in passing years, I have to agree that CD Red Alert would have been perfect for it.

That's because in MW, There's Megatron, his clone/proxy Megaplex, and Galvatron simultaneously; the latter was ripped to shreds by Starscream, who's now wearing a shiny coat of black paint and Galvy's arm cannon as a trophy.

*shrug* Considering how little MW 'cannon' there is, I'm all for it. That's how it stands now anyway, they'll likely be building it all from the ground up (which won't be hard, since there's barely anything to start with ).

FunPub establishing their own story line ... oh goodie ... can't wait for that.

I think they're just using old stock imagery for the silhouette picture.

I think they are going to be "adding to the Machine Wars Universe" so don't expect one for one updates of old designs.

That's what I'm hoping for, albeit as a guy with only a very passing interest in the idea at all. I'm always up for new characters.

BTB, wasn't there a Botcon Skyquake just two years ago? Some time recently. Maybe I'm mixing fictions, but would TFCC do another Skyquake so quickly after doing one already? It's not like he's as important as Bumblebee, where a constant stream of new figures is not only warranted but totally necessary....

I read that no Armada, Energon, or Cybertron molds would be used again. If that's true, then the answer is no.

It might be true, but I honestly hope it's not. I want a Machine Wars Soundwave from Cybertron Defense Red Alert.
