Cyclonus or Scourge?

Postby TheCactus » Sat Jul 21, 2007 5:37 pm

The subject title says it all really- who do you prefer? I'm a Scourge man myself, though I get the feeling Cyclonus is a more popular character. I think I'd like him more if it weren't for the bunny ears...

PS: I'm talking G1, incidentally.

i must say that they both showed strong charachtics which makes each charachter interesting. however cyclonus is alot more loyal to galvatron. meanwhile scourge will take what he can get when it is needed. so he will betray

I like cyclonus. He had some good leadership skills and had a good sense of logic.

I like both, personality wise. But looks wise Cyclonus wins. Scourge looks too much like a flying hot dog in sweepcraft form.

Scourge had those long painted fingernails... I'd definately say Cyclonus is the winner in appearance. Also Cyclonus is a better soldier. Cyclonus for the win!

Am I the only one who liked Scourge's red claws ?
And metallic quasi-beard ?

Probably...

Cyclonus...If Galvatron fell he could easily lead and he reminded me of how Megatron used to be

Cyclonus altogether. I didn't like how loyal he was to Galvatron in Season 3, but he rocked in the Movie and when Galvatron wasn't around in the show he really could take charge of a situation.

Scourge's best display was when he mutated from putting the Autobot Matrix of Leadership inside him, but even that didn't end well for him.

Pink nails, actually. No wonder the Decepticons had so little energon at the beginning of season 3...

I like Cyclonus. That guy could waste nearly any Autobot. And his jet alt mode was awesome.

I'm about at the point that I would announce it a draw for me. They are both cool characters, even though Cyclonus is original, Scourge is copied into Sweeps...

I am leaning toward Cyclonus because, I've owned a few toys of him dating back to childhood, but Scourge I never owned until the Titanium version came out.

I wasn't really making a distinction. Most people are talking about the cartoon, and some people are referring to the toys. I guess people can decide which one they want to think about. I've hardly seen the G1 toon (I have a 10 episode dvd which I think is from season 2, and the animated movie), so I've hardly seen any of Scourge's actually behaviour, I just prefer him on looks - mostly the beard - as well as his comics persona, where he strikes out really nicely as a powerful warrior in his own right. I'm also a shameless underdog supporter, so I automatically have a sympathy for Scourge, because he's less popular.

I do think it's a shame that Scourge isn't completely individual, because his sweeps are exctly the same as him; but doesn't Cyclonus have a crew as well? What do they look like? And come to think of it, do any of Scourge's sweeps show up as actual characters at any point?

Cyclonus has better standing as an individual character I think, because his name has hardly ever been reused (I think there's a Cyclonus in Armada, but that's about it) whereas there's been tons of Scourges.

They're both awesome characters. I just wish they'd done Cyclonus and Galvatron in Titanium so they could go with Scourge. When I get round to buying Scourge...

"I have the power... of a hundred Decepticons. NO. A HUNDRED THOOOOOUUUUSSSSAAAAAAAAANNNNNDDDDD!!!"

"Ahh! We're all going to die!"
"REMARKABLE. THE WOMAN IS CLAIRVOYANT!!!"

"Aiieee!"
"DID I FRIGHTEN YOU, MADAM?!?!"

Yeah, that's why I like Scourge better than Cyclonus. :-P

Oh, and the beard + red fingernails + flying soapdish transformation.

though i like both i prefer cyclonus with his cool vehicle mode, his cool gravelly voice, and his loyal almost codependant behavior towards galvatron whichis as mucha weakness as a strength.

This one is hard for me to decide on. I like the cartoon Cyclonus, the comic Scourge, and the toy Scourge. So, with two out of three categories, Scourge wins.

I like both a lot, but I'll lean towards Scourge...

He is a cool character in the cartoon, especially when he gets deformed by the matrix! I think Cyclonus' G1 toy looks a bit cooler, but I like Scourge's cartoon look better. It's close, but I'll go with Scourge.
