in this episode wheeljack/downshift keeps getting called........ cliffjumper......... is this just a mess up cause i remember the toy was downshift and cliffjumper was a different toy

Miss-naming characters was a problem in both Armada and Energon.

And it was not the only problem with these shows. Many bad things came of the splices and mediocre dubbing to quash the quality of what I have heard, were actually quite good in their original japanese released versions.

I hope the new Animated series not being a dub/splice makes it much more enjoyable to follow.

Hopefully.
I remember hearing that Armada Sieswipe was originally Nightbeat, but something went awry and it got misnamed. Prettey nasty mix-up.
So technically, a true TV Sideswipe hasn't existed for 20+ years.
And that's why Armada sucks.
