Dinobots vs Team leaders

Postby unique_username » Tue Jan 15, 2008 2:36 am

i was looking at the dinobots vs terrorcons thread, and i thought that while the terrorcons are all very dangerous individually, each of the dinobots is as strong and durable as a team leader. so rather than have the dinobots against one group, where every memeber would be stomped leaving the leader to try and put up a fight, how would the dinobots go against a group of decepticons that are around equal to them.

soo the dinobots vs motormaster, onslaught, razorclaw, snaptrap and silverbolt. silverbolt is a bit of a weird choice being an autobot, but i wanted a flier to go up against swoop. conditions are very warm and sunny, so snarl is at maximum power. you can pair them up however you like, or just have a huge firefight/brawl.

So, in the Dinos vs. Terrorcons thread I voted for the Dinobots. But in this case, I'm going to go with the team leaders. Even with Silverbolt, who is the weakest of the bunch in all reality, there is quite an impressive cast opposing the Dinobots, and while they are real strong and tough and blah blah blah, they are far from invincible.

It would be an interesting fight, but the only dinobot that can take down one-on-one a team leader is Grimlock, and two-three of them can be much for him, while Snaptrap or Razorclaw could be a threat to him.

Team Leaders here.

I dunno, this is a tough one. Those leaders are a pretty impessive team. So are the Dinobots. I'm gonna vote the Dinos cause of the whole Snarl power thing.

Razorclaw is no match for Grimlock seeing how he got beaten in every fight they ever had.

Now Snaptrap would probably stand a good chance.

I know the Dinobots are tremendously popular and all, and are well nigh invincible, but are they really as unbeatable as they are portrayed? I know that's a rhetorical question of sorts, but come on. Shockwave routinely fought multiple Dinobots to a standstill, and if they really were so powerful then why not send them after Megatron? Devastator also stalemated the Dinos on a number of occasions in the G1 cartoon. All I'm saying is that while they are incredibly powerful and all that, I have a tough time accepting the idea that the Dinobots can best all competition. I can see Motormaster and Silverbolt being defeated, but Snaptrap, Onslaught and Razorclaw? One of them at least would have to be the last bot standing.....

Hey I'd also agree that the teamleaders would beat the dinos. But it would atleast take two 2 teamleaders to take out Grimlock swiftly.

There's a few ways you can look at this fight and I think most were already pointed out. I'll short list them for review.

1. Swoop solo beats Silverbolt solo

and with no other flyers to look out for the aerialbot leader is going down fast...

2. Razorclaw is Grimlock's car-freshener

but so is Slag so I'ld let the two of them slug it out instead.

3. Motor Master thinks he can match Prime's endurance, but Grimlock knows he can match Prime's strength...

So let the biggest Con Combiner leader take on Sludge.

4. Sunkist Snarl channel's the T-force in his fists

So let Onslaught strategically attack him at a distance and rain missiles on him until they blot out the sky 300 style.

5. I guess Snaptrap can hold out long enough for help unless Swoop gets there first.

I think swapping Hungrr for Silverbolt is the only thing giving the dinobots a chance here :-?

If Hun-Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr were on the Team Leader team it would be no contest. Otherwise, I'd have to go with the Dinobots in this one. I'd love to see Sludge and Snaptrap in a "water" battle!

I don't see the leaders being able to work together. The dinobots could take on any one of those teams easily. Dinobots win against a rag tag team of leaders.

Even with Grimlock, the dinobots are mostly about brute force while the team leaders have better intellect and skill that would turn the battle in their favor. For that, I’d say the team leaders.

The TLs would shoot from a distance, as far as possible. The Ds would shoot back and throw things. This could continue for hours. The TLs are faster than the Ds. If possible, the Ds would go deep underground to avoid the bombardment. Being supercharged, Snarl is likely to run at the TLs and try to catch them. They'd have to work hard to outrun him. Snarl is very strong but still vulnerable to heavy weapons. Someone would have to carry Snaptrap because he's a relatively slow turtle. TBH, I don't think Silverbolt would work with Decepticons. He'd rather be with the Ds.

The TLs can win but they have to score many direct hits on the Ds. Also, they'd have to avoid any traps laid by the Ds. The fight will probably end with damage for everyone and the TLs retreating. Ds win, at a cost.
