Indeed. There are some figures that look good in a box. Some Titanium figures come to mind.

I open most of mine. There are a select few that I either keep MIB or MISB. It just kind of depends on what it is and what I'm feeling about that figure.

Like I display all of my Masterpieces, except for MP-4, which is autographed and MISB. And all of my encores are still sealed except for Prime, because I wanted to take the twist ties off and check out the trailer. I haven't had a G1 Prime trailer in years, so I just had to play with it. The rest of the encores I have complete loose G1's, so I didn't feel the need to open them. It's really a case by case basis.

I keep the boxes too. You'd never now when they might be useful.

I lost the box to olokin so I can't return him =( haha kidding. <3u

Few boxes I keep. Like the Masterpieces, Re-issues and some other random boxes.

 Masterpiece boxes are nice to displsy too.

I open them all and, since 06, keep all the boxes.
The boxes don't get flattened either- they go in a black bag with every other box from that series, and then go in the loft.

If I ever decide to sell one or two, I'd prefer that the buyer gets them with everything they originally came with.

Nice one. Okay, that I could justify keeping MISB... =P~

But all mine are opened, and very few kept in the boxes, just because I like to play with them. The only ones that I do usually keep in the boxes are my RiD Brave Max and my reissue Powermaster Prime. All the others are kept out.
Most of the boxes get thrown straight out, although I'll usually cut off the back panel or anything else of interest. Some boxes I keep, though; so far Alts/BTs, Japanese bots (including Jap reissues, my MP Convoy, Superlink and GF stuff etc), anything else I feel is somehow 'special' (and no, I'm not quite sure what my criteria are).

I suppose I never have the temptation to really minglewith them, and just treasure mint boxes (C8 and better) as they will upkeep their value incase I'd ever opt to sell it (though I have never considered this).

Sames goes for my comics - once their bought, I pop them in sleeves and never open them.

I'm surprised nobody has responded saying they keep theirs in the packaging, with so many TF stores online charging premiums for C9 or better packaging, etc.

You don't open any of them? You pop comics right into a plastic? What enjoyment do you get out of your stuff? It might come as a suprise, but many collectors don't care what another collector has. Your C8 or better doesnt impress. Theres no point to it unless you're going to sell them which you said you dont plan on. I actually feel sorry for you instead. Live a little. Pop open a toy and see what it does.

It sounds more like a pack rat mentality. You dont care what it is or does, you just know you need to have it. And once you do, on to the next one!
As for the comics.......the covers are nice and shiny I know. But the cool stuff is on the inside. If you dont ever open them.....you just bought a usless pile of paper.

sigh...we'll never understand some people Toyotus...we're just going to start another useless debate on this topic again (didn't we have a thread for this already?). i wish i had that GIF with the dead horse to post on this.

i admit this is a free board and everyone has a right to post their opinions - but still...i don't see the point in buying toys and comics just to keep them C9 or better. IMHO, wrong mentality at all.

Actually the question was only if we open our Transformers or not. That was all..
If I had some G1'a mib, I would keep them in the box and same goes for a ton of my comics. People just have different ways of collecting, thats all.

Seibertron is 1 of top 2 visited forums. It's part of my life now. All my TFs has been violated by my hands and fingers. No need to feel any negative vibe. Join me and many others who share this earned joy. On d other hand, i'm a critic when it comes to any voyager class or higher figures. Especially the packages. Since u could open them and put them back in da box(extremely precisely  ) I have the most blast with those large TFs.

Just about all of my Transformers are opened except for a few pieces that I have doubles of. The only transformers that I have that are not opened are my three G1 figures which are Ironhide, Blitzwing, and Sludge. My friends say that my figures won’t be worth anything if I open them, but I didn’t buy these toys to make a profit. I bought them to remind me of a piece of my childhood that I enjoyed so much.  :P
