Like I display all of my Masterpieces, except for MP-4, which is autographed and MISB. And all of my encores are still sealed except for Prime, because I wanted to take the twist ties off and check out the trailer. I haven't had a G1 Prime trailer in years, so I just had to play with it. The rest of the encores I have complete loose G1's, so I didn't feel the need to open them. It's really a case by case basis.

I suppose I never have the temptation to really minglewith them, and just treasure mint boxes (C8 and better) as they will upkeep their value incase I'd ever opt to sell it (though I have never considered this).
Sames goes for my comics - once their bought, I pop them in sleeves and never open them.
I'm surprised nobody has responded saying they keep theirs in the packaging, with so many TF stores online charging premiums for C9 or better packaging, etc.

You don't open any of them? You pop comics right into a plastic? What enjoyment do you get out of your stuff? It might come as a suprise, but many collectors don't care what another collector has. Your C8 or better doesnt impress. Theres no point to it unless you're going to sell them which you said you dont plan on. I actually feel sorry for you instead. Live a little. Pop open a toy and see what it does.
It sounds more like a pack rat mentality. You dont care what it is or does, you just know you need to have it. And once you do, on to the next one!
As for the comics.......the covers are nice and shiny I know. But the cool stuff is on the inside. If you dont ever open them.....you just bought a usless pile of paper.
