Um yea what Deadpool said.

Just to add to that Decepticons who can't fly in alt mode are allways able to in robot mode. Why do they even need flying alt modes if they can fly in robot mode?

Don't know if it's been said, but in More Than Meets The Eye(first 3 episodes for those who don't know) the Autobots could fly too. In the episode War Dawn, the robots with the new flight ability enthraled Orion Pax(he thought they where cool).

I don't know what type of relavence this would have here outside of fun facts, but there you have it :P

Gun.

There have been lots of tanks and jets and helicopters and beasts, but there have been very few guns. Maybe 4 or 5. So it makes him stand out of the crowd.

It's also interesting that others have to fire him. He's the leader of the Decepticons, but without the other Decepticons, there's no one to lead. He'd just be some crazy Transformer on a streetcorner on Cybertron babbling about how he's going to take on the universe.

So just as he needs followers to be a leader, he needs those followers to fire him in gun more....

I don't mind the other incarnations of Megatron, but I think a Gun epitomizes him.

The important thing was that they were different. War Within did more proper redesigns for them that were cool enough to make fans want them made into officially canon toys.

Megatron can be whatever he wants to be. In all incarnations he's been extremely powerful. I just think his jet modes have been very cool.
Alot of War Within characters do have the same alt modes as the G1 cartoon, including Jazz and Bumblebee. Only their robot modes were changed to fit the vehicle mode sence the original Bumblebee still looked he Transformed into a VW Bug.

I think the War Within designs are cool because they look like the Cybertronian vehicles rather than Earth forms and still look like they kept most of their robot mode appearance. WW Megatron for example even though he has a different alt mode still looks mostly like G1 Megatron but with a little more detail.

I don't really like the story line because the Dynobots shouldn't exsist yet but they still look cool. 8)

Even the G1 U.S. and U.K. comics from Marvel had the Dinobots exsisting on Cybertron before coming to earth. The original Toy bio's on the tec-spec's on the back of the Dinobot toy's box's said that the Dino's were from Cybertron and every comic since has told the story the same way.

But since I dont think your into comics all that much you might not have knowen that.

The only time that the Dinobots story had them being created on earth was in the G1 toon.

Well not all the stories can be of the awesomeness of the G1 Cartoon.

The G1 comic's were just as awesome and in some cases even better then the G1 toon. The U.S. Marvel G1 comics out lived the toon by at least 4 years and the Marvel G1 U.K. comics lasted to issue number 332 with over 160 original stories that were never released in the U.S. tital.

Which ever one isn't a gun. Everything else that Megatron was (besides the stupid modes he had in RID, a giant hand? C'mon!) was cool.

To be fair he was allso a Transport/Car/Tank (not really sure what that thing was), a jet, a Gargoyal/Bat (Instructions say Gargoyal, cartoon says bat), and a two headed Dragon.

R.I.D. Galvatron allso has a 1 headed dragon, a Griffin, a Mammouth, and a "boat" that looks absolutly nothing like a boat added on to his list of alt modes.

megatron is NOT a jet

Postby dryxler » Thu Nov 22, 2007 10:56 am

as far as the movie goes, i was terribly disappointed w/ megatron (on the bandwagon, regretfully) and when i got the leader class Brawl, i felt that was what Megatron should've looked like. Megatron-firepower=lame. Megatron+tank mode=kick(blast?)all ass. Armada mode is cool. although as far as the Megatron toys go, my favorite is definitely the Transmetals 2 red dragon version. and the Masterpiece megs is awesome, but for character/movie purposes, he needs to be a tank. to make him a jet feels...castrating! "ooooo, i'm Megatron, and i'm fast, just like Starscream, who i refuse to argue with extensively b/c Michael Bay wanted more screen time devoted to flashy special effects instead of actual old school conflict."
"you disappoint me yet again, Starscream."
oh, yay, go insubordination...
cross my fingers and pray for Shockwave.

TANK! Tanks are cool. I'm biased though. I have a soft spot for tankformers. Movie Leader Brawl is the best so far. I would love to see a decent tank megs though.

gimme ma tank meg

Postby dryxler » Thu Nov 22, 2007 7:18 pm

i do like the armada megatron, but the weird gap in tank mode where his head is, well, weird. ditto w/ demolishor. leader class Brawl is f'n awesome, much better then that piece of craplastic i have named leader class megatron. wish Brawl had more screen time in the movie. (pause button)i do believe that if in the movie that Jazz and Bumblebee had a dance off megatron's head would've exploded, saving lots of property damage, etc. then we could've spent more time watching decepticons who were worth taking seriously, i.e. Brawl, Blackout, Barricade, Starscream, Frenzy... yes, i think Frenzy was cooler than movie megatron. i can't express how much i hate that dorky jet mode. robot mode is alright, but that jet makes me wanna break something (the face of whoever thought it was a great idea to make megs an alien jet). yeah, jets are fast and destructive, but, as a previous post mentioned, there are a dozen different Decepticon jet characters, Megatron deserves to be something TOUGHER. Megatron is not about speed, he's about raw power. movie starscream was powerful, and fast, just like SS is supposed to be. Megatron and Prime are NEVER trying to outrun each other, they always try to beat the crap out of each other. strength and endurance are required. if megatron was prone to running away like starscream, then he would be quick too. megatron would rather stand and deliver then run away. what's next, Blurr as a pair of Nike's?
BTW the opening scene w/ Blackout bustin up the army base was a fanboy dream. i want a leader class Blackout, he deserves and needs it. and i also want an Ultimate Barricade like the big Bumblebee.

I'd rather Barricade done to scale with the Alternators. That way I can pose him in a group shot with MD Megs, MP Skywarp, and ALT Dead End/Swindle. That would make an awesome display.
