Always thought that would be cool. Please don't say their here on Seibertron. I would feel like a real Billy Bologna.
It would be a neat feature for this already great site, but a serious undertaking.

Would any of you be interested in helping to archive instructions on Seibertron.com so that we can have this content here?

I'm not sure how I could help, but I'd be interested.

If you guys have access to a scanner, it'd be great to see how much of a dent a large group of us could make to archive the instructions.

It'd also be great to work with a few of you to archive the accessories and weapons that come with each Transformers toy to compete with TFU.info.

I do have a scanner, just gotta get it working again. Then again I think ym father does too. And I've kept a large number of instructions over the years...

You have my energon axe!

Would accessories use photos?
How could we start scanning Inst. so that we are not all scanning the same sheets?
Please elaborate.

Accessories would use clean photos like the ones that I do for the Seibertron.com galleries.

As for scanning instructions ... I'll have to think over how this process would work. Depends on how many of you I could get interested in helping out with this huge process.

I am no completionist, but I have a fairly large collection.
I could get started on scanning but there would be holes in any given toy line.
Is there a tricky web way you could easily compile a list of every toy you have galleries for?
All participants would maybe need a master list.

Whatever you come up with, I would be happy to help.

Probably something we can tackle early next year unless I get a spare few minutes while working on the Seibertron.com Store for Christmas 2014 season. I want to make sure we do this right the first time and want to come up with a proper way to do this.

Depends on the figure. If its a masterpiece or other figure that looks delicate then yes as I dont want to start pulling bits apart that arnt supposed to. Generations figures etc tend to be more robust and and simpler so I will just give it a go and then once I think I am done I will check the instructions and the images on the pack to make sure things look right.

I always look at instructions before transforming for three reasons: 1 To see how Hasbro screwed up basic transformation instructions (somewhat often sadly), 2. To make sure I don'[t break something doing it on my own, and 3. I find that sometimes instructions can be...somewhat fun. The Beast Hunter instructions were not only useful but also held some pretty information, like a mini overarching story, a short bio (which really could be on the back of the box) but a nice description of the weapons the figures came with, including names.

As for collecting transformation sheets for the site, because I always keep my sheets in case I EVER want to sell a figure, I would be more than happy to help. I even have a working scanner. :D

I use instructions with each and every figure I get. I also use the fan input to see what gimmicks the instructions miss, such as the black flaps on the MP-03/11 mold where the wings connect in robot mode. Never mentioned anywhere, fans figured that one out all on their own.

I look at it this way: This is an investment, of large sums of money. Not to recoup down the road (although that does happen on occasion) but an investment of joy for my personal use. I only have so much money I can work with, just like the rest of us, and since it's going to be for me and it's usually a more expensive figure I can only afford one of, you can be darn sure my investment is going to be well taken care of, and that includes using the instructions.

I don't need to be shocked and surprised during transformation, I just need it to work. However, if there's a gimmick in the transformation, that's great, I like that kind of surprise, but the surprises that lead to breakage because I couldn't be troubled enough to go read a folded up piece of paper? No thanks. Just not worth it at $45.00-100.00+ per figure. Nope.

As for the archive of instructions? I have some BW, RID, Animated, Masterpiece and Movieverse instructions. If those are of any use, I'll gladly help. I sold off most of my Unicron Trilogy collection, and with it, their instructions. Sadly, this idea came up after they sold off, because the UT era is the one lacking the most in terms of instructions. (I wonder why?)

Instructions are usually unneeded. If I can't figure it out I just look at the picture and can usually figure it out.
