In the trailer the Astronauts uncover something in the sand. It looks alot like a robots head (you can see partial of it in the reflection of the Astronauts helmet, also the scene that follows that appears to have a head in it that looks alot like Bonecrusher from the first film (I'm not saying it is though obviously).
How many Transformers do you think you can spot in the trailer?

It's probably a corpse from the Ark. Nobody special.

Or is it someone special? I know of the head in the sand you speak of Zoidberg, honestly it looks like a varation of Optimus Prime without his mouth sheild, guard, plate, whatever ya wanna call it. And being this scene takes place before either of the two films, it may as well be Optimus. Though, alot of the dead/offline cons look more insect in nature, which is a style I've noticed adapted for the decepticons so, all the bots we see may be from a squirmish more so then a crash.

Yeah, the way the moon dust falls away it does give the features of Optimus even with antenna. However of course when Optimus first comes to earth in his Robot form before choosing a vehicle to disguise himself as he doesn't have the facial features that he does later in the first film. Actually I say this but I'm not completely sure we see Optimus' facial features prior to vehicle mode. I can't remember, shall have to watch it again. Hmmm, it appears the Ark (if it is the ark) is on earth due to the set photos of Shia on the craft (without a space suit), be interesting to find out how.
I watched Transformers the Movie cartoon from the 80's earlier. Would be cool if the matrix did come back into it to show its greater significance.........can't wait for the film or even the next trailer clip with extra or different footage to come out. I've been geeking out over wobbly set camera footage and fuzzy set photos for months and months.

Thats right, there was a proto form mode in the first. However being it's a Bay film and continuity isn't really his strong suit under pressure and such a short development turn around, I think it's not really something to count out either.
I too however am eager for this film, but like I said it's for completely different reasons. Now, with the unveiling of who the monster tanker truck is, I'm afraid the "Stunticon" inspired cars will turn out to be
and.....perhaps even combine with said bot to form a Bay-verse version of Menasor. This combined with the Bumblebee crash and Mega-Grevious and other odd end things has my morbid curiosity quirked.
Though, I wont be waiting in lines and such this go around either.

~Yeah. I just Pray they don't do anything stupid again like a robot that can mimic a human. The Hologram concept was brilliant...and the Human-realistic decepticon in the second film made no sense. If they could replicate humans, why not just pretend to be Mikaela and get to Sam that way!? I guess there is no point trying to figure out logic where there was none. I think they just sat down and said "Hey right, what would be cool to see!?" made ideas into scenes and then stuck them together and called it a film, because the scenes alone are often cool. They just don't work to make a plausible plot, shame. Ohwell. And then Jolt, WTF did he pop from?
Rant over...Peace out Y'awll.

Thankfully it's just your imagination and something like that won't happen.
