I still say Family Guy is one of the few longish running shows to not lose its charm.
South Park is just random political nonsense.
That or they are trying to make some kind of stand on something.
Its just not funny.
I'll take Family Guy and Robot Chicken over the Simpsons and South Park any day of the week

One of the main reasons that FG has lost it's appeal for me is that everybody is watching it now. Then so many people try to quote it. And they do so... Badly.
I still enjoy watching the show. I just got overloaded on it. I had to take a break.

The episode you mentioned (the Mike Wallace line) is one of the funniest new episodes they've had in a while. But that's about it.
