Fast Action Battler, are they worthed???

Postby dancouga » Fri Jul 27, 2007 2:31 am

Hey Guys, in here, there are some items arrive. they got Voyager Ironhide and Starscream (which i snatch both of them directly) and some Fast Action Battler, (Brawl, Jazz, Ratchet, Ironhide, Optimus, Starscream). i only take the Brawl FAB because i see that he has quite a good weathering colour. i want to buy the other available FAB to but i have some doubt, so ineed to ask all your opinion whether it is worthed to collect them or not.

from what i see, it seem that most of the FAB has more detail and movie like head compare to the voyager or the deluxe one. although in terms of mobility they lose. but some paint detail (such as brawl and starscream) i think is better since they have this weatehring colors. and also their size is quite big i think compare to the deluxe series. so any advice? any positif points from this FAB?

I got Fab Starscream instead of Voyager Starscream. Fab Starscream has better hands ,and a landing gear which the voyager one doesn't have. Fab Brawl I got him but I end up returning him cause both of his pegs got bent below the waist when I transformed him a couple of times. Got my money back. Bought Voyager Ironhide ,and Legends Bumblebee. No complaints with them.

I dunno about the rest of you guys out there, but I love the FABs. With they had elbows, but otherwise they're pretty nice. I reccoment Blackout if you see him, he's borrowed the "Hyper Power" gimmick from the Energon Decepticons, plus his normal robot mode looks kinda Mega Man-esque to me.

FABs are kinda like getting extra deluxes in the movie line. I like it.

I thinkt hey are worth it. Iw ouldnt buy em cuz i like the other ones, but some of them do have much better detailed heads, like Ratchet!

Depending on waht your budget is I think FABS are good, or if you have kids in the house too they are good.

Well well well, it seems that this FAB is getting more interesting (on some characters only) especially after reading all your comment. i may have decided to buy the FAB Starscream (which i think is the best after brawl), Ratchet and Ironhide. i like all their faces. may be i will try to give them custom paint to them. before i try them on the voyager class or deluxe class. i am not dare yet to try on more complex class. hahaha, this migh be a good practice ground on my painting and also a good addition for the collection.

Iw as going to avoid the FAB line, but caved and got Ratchet.

He is great, easy transformation, well detailed and durable as all hell. I now have FAB Brawl, and am hunting for FAB Ironhide, Starscream and Prime.

For toys that were created and marketed especially for younger hands, they are very good toys, that make more than decent replacements for (the often less than impressive) Movie deluxe figures.

I have to agree, I think the FABS are great for what they are. TFs that are suitable for younger kids. For an adult collector, not so much.

I hope they keep making them though, it seems to create freedom for Hasbro to get more complicated with the standard line.

FAB Frenzy is awesome. He is one figure you look at and say, how did they figure out how to build this?

really? when i saw him i passed. he just looked too bulky, just didnt have that 'frenzy look.' i dont collect the FABs, but i have to say, some of the other figures in that line look pretty good.

He looks bulky from the side, but good from the front.

His transformation is genious. His arms and legs make up the body of the stero (looks like the movie when you Transform him), then you split him in half, and rotat the head. It's like every piece of him moves and still makes part of each mode. Whoever designed this went overboard for a FAB figure.

Well his robot mode is not 'sexy' like in the movie (referencing the airport scene), but he is cool, and has an awesome alt mode, and the transformation, like was stated, is top notch in coolness, even if in robot mode the thing is behind the head.

What, you were expecting his head to come off and turn into a cell phone? /:)

Honestly, though, I'm pretty impressed that they managed to turn Frenzy into a toy at all. even yough given theplacement of the launcher and the way the trigger works, I think it might have been a B-Daman in a past life.

...What? They had to do SOMETHING with all that leftover plastic!

I think FAB Frenzy will be a bit like Deluxe Scorponok, you get him to complete your movie cast, thinking he wont be that great due to the horribly lame robot mode....

Then the little bugger just surprises you with the general look of the alt mode, and all the gimmicks, until, you're not sure how you could ever think he was a 2nd rate figure.

phiuw, just back from buying some of those FAB yesterday. they are selling like hot cakes in here. i got Starscream, Ironhide, and Ratchet. i pass on Optimus, and Jazz, they look too weird for me.

well among those i found starscream is the best one. bulky but nice detail and posture. i love those chicken legs of his. he can do decent pose even with the limited poseability.

While for Ironhide, he is quite good in robot mode, but the hand is very weird. only has limited pose and it is quite awkward though. but over all, he has a very scary looks... so i store him in his alt mode now, cause looks better.

for ratchet, he has bulky body and nice weapon and upper body pose and details. but the legs has no articulation. this limited the pose to only standing up straight...., anyway his alt mode is great so he stays like that.

after reading your post, it seems that the best FAB would be frenzy. but i can not find any in here. too bad. may be i have to wait for the next wave.

just now i finished repainting my starscream, and he looks way different in the Tan colors..... :?
