Favorite Transformer Toys

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Favorite Transformer Toys

Postby Rial Vestro » Mon Jul 27, 2009 10:07 am

Rather than picking your overall favorite I thought I'd break this up into different catigorys.

Favorite Transformer toy that...

You own.

You use to own and wish you still had.

You have never owned but wish you did.

Was never actully made as a toy but you wish Hasbro would hurry up and fix that problem.

Sub-Topic

Do you think Transformers has enough show only characters to make an entire toy line useing only characters who never got toys when their show was actully on the air? This would include G1 Arcee, BM Botanica, A remold of Optimal Optimus with Megatron's face, and any other character you can think of who has never been made into a toy.

Tie between RoTF Leader Prime and Masterpiece Optimus Prime.

You use to own and wish you still had.

G1 Fortress Maximus.

You have never owned but wish you did.

Overlord.

Was never actully made as a toy but you wish Hasbro would hurry up and fix that problem.

Nucleon Grimlock from G1 comics issues #76-80. Technically, he can't even be called a Transformer because he didn't have a Dino-mode, but his robot mode looked badass. I'd love to have it as a MP, but like you said, wishful thinking.

My favorite Transformer toy...

That I own -- Movie Deluxe Barricade
Used to own and wish I still had -- Movie Deluxe Swindle
Have never owned but wish I did -- Too many to choose from, but... Alternators Ravage
Never actually made as a toy but Wish Hasbro would make it -- a figure of the Dewbot from 2007 Movie

Sub-Topic:

Personally, I think it's a serious waste of money making TF figures of characters who don't even appear in any of the shows, comics, and movies when Hasbro should just come out with figures of the characters who do make appearances -- large or small -- that fans would gladly pick up.

My favorite Transformer toy that I own is Transformers Beast Wars Fuzors Silverbolt. If I'm not mistaken, it was more than 10 years old now and it's still in good working condition.

What I really want to have nowadays are ROTF Superion, Sideswipe, Breakaway, and Skids.

Should this be in the toy forum section? Anyway, I'll play:

Favorite Transformer toy...
I own: Botcon 08 Shattered Glass Prime or Robot Masters Reverse Convoy

Used to own & wish I still had: G2 Megatron (The big green & purple tank... I have a Beast Wars Neo Megastorm as an affordable substitute... but it's not quite the same :-( )

Never owned but wish I did: Botcon 2006 Darksyde Megatron

Was never a toy but I wish HasTak would make: TFTM gator-cons (like the Sharkticons)? Dunno, otherwise.

I recently got a G2 Megatron in a trade with a friend... I'm debating on whether I really want to keep him or not.

I think ROTF Megatron has him beat in the Bulk department... except for that one arm... man he has a tiny left arm.

Sence I never answered my own questions...

I own.
That's a rather difficult question to answer. I guess I would say my R.I.D Galvatron. And I singled him out for the color scheme sence I allso have Megatron. But I like the mold because there's so much playability in it. That's really the only transformer I own who because he has so many modes allready I've played with to the point of makeing my own non-offical fan modes not that I could remember what any of them were.

I use to own and wish I still had.
I've allways wished I still had my G1 Bumblebee and Jazz but other than them my actual favorite that I wish I still had is RID Side Burn. I gave him to my brother with the intention of getting his powerlink repaint to replace him and then never found the repaint in stores.

I have never owned but wish I did.
There are alot of toys I wish I had for my Prime/-atron collection but the one I REALLY want is Titanium Fallen. I've seen him in stores once but couldn't afford him and then never again. Even though I don't read the comics and don't really have much of an interest to I have allways thought the Fallen was the coolest looking TF I have ever seen. ROTF Fallen however I still think looks like crap. He has absolutly 0 of the qualitys that make me such a huge fan of the original Fallen design.

Was never actully made as a toy but I wish Hasbro would hurry up and fix that problem.
G1 Arcee. The FANS have made toys of her before Hasbro ever did. If a fan can whip up a kit bash Arcee from scratch surely Hasbro can make an offical toy. There are of course statues and such of her but there has never been an offical G1 Arcee transforming toy.

He IS a brick... but so great! The Megastorm (Beast Wars Neo) version is basically the same toy, but not as cool because they painted a weird black mask across his face... kinda like a menacing shadow around his eyes, but it obscures his cool Megatron-ish face features, and they removed the electronics (I miss hearing him talk about himself in the 3rd person: "Megatron, attack!").

The only neat difference is that they changed the camo to dark olive green to match a little better with the bright green body, but I actually like the bright purple & green of G2 Megs... that's what's fun about G2! I love how humongous he is... very intimidating to all my voyagers & deluxe figures.

If you like collecting various incarnations of the same character (like I love getting a version of Megatron from each line), and he's in good condition with all his accessories & electronics still working, keep him mang... I'd hate to see you part with it (like I did) and later want it back. He can get pricey through online sellers.

As I mentioned in another post, he's one of the best-of-the-best from G2. Monster-sized toy, fun action features.

Armada Thundercracker. Completely sentimental value. It was the first one I bought when I actually started collecting. He's in rough shape (a couple of bad moves), but I wouldn't trade or sell him for anything. Wouldn't mind finding a replacement right wing though.

You use to own and wish you still had.

Is bad question to be asking me. Ex husband raped my collection. Pretty much everything missing from that (G1 Starscream, BW Inferno, a couple of assorted Seekers....too ouchie to think about!)

You have never owned but wish you did.

BM Strika. I get so tired of fembots being dainty and girly. Strika not only was tougher than woodpecker lips, she was actually in a stable relationship. Sometimes ugly and scary = win!

Was never actully made as a toy but you wish Hasbro would hurry up and fix that problem.

I must be mentally challenged. I actually can't think of any. I do wish they'd make an awesome *Decepticon* lunch bag, though. Or backpack. I'd settle for a nice Decepticon backpack.

HK, I wish they'd STOP doing some of the weirder 'crossovers', though.

Unicron Transforms into a freaking planet, I'm preddy sure if Hasbro built one, they'd have to get help from H.A.S.A. in order to launch that thing into space because there'd be no room on Earth to keep it.

Well they finally did create a Transformable Elita-1 that was sold exclusively at this years Bot-Con.

---------------
The G1 Elita-1 posed a difficulty I'm guessing for Hasbro to create. Because of her feminine physique they had a hard time making her curves transform into her alt mode as in the cartoon. But even with Ironhide and Ratchet the toy was never exactly like the cartoon. So I think they could have put out her G1 transformable toy. The closest thing they ever put out was this Model Kit bearing Takara's name...

I think with today's technology Hasbro and/or Takara could make a pretty good G1 Elita-1 (and the rest of the Fembots) and not just a pink repaint of Cybertron Thunderblast with a new head and a model kit.

Aww, I think those shades of pink are cute. ;;) They're fun and youthful colors. I think they might be a little too cutesy for a Fem-con, but cute nonetheless. But yeah, that new Elita-1 is very masculine. If she wasn't pink I might not be able to tell it was a female. The image on the box and tech-specs make her more sexy and feminine, but thats not how her toy looks. /:)

Fair enough: I don't *do* cute, unless with extreme irony, so I'll take your word for it!

The figure looks feminine enough--at least the legs and feet do. The chest could be a little curvier, but there's a significant chest/waist ratio that I suppose I could buy as feminine. The arms are kind of butch.

HK, we need more sexy ass-kicking fembots.
