FE Prime Bulkhead or RiD Prime Bulkhead?

Postby Alex Jones » Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:41 am

I have looked at both pictures and there some slight advantages and disadvantages for each of the mold, but what do y'all prefer? I have been recently seen the Takara version of RiD Bulkhead and it is making me think about getting it but I am not too sure. You thoughts would help. Thanks!

[edit] Just realized you're talking about the TAKARA RiD. Nevermind what I said before.

Takara APPEARS to have used the same dark-green metalic plastic on their RID Bulkhead, or it could be photoshop. Just have to wait for in-hand images to tell. I'm getting the AM one, just because i'm not paying for the FE one, and the AM one comes with a real wrecking ball, and not just the mechtech one the RID one comes with. ;)

It really depends on you.

If you want to save money, PRID's version is the way to go.
If you want better accuracy, a more complex figure, then FE is the way to go.
However, if you're going to spend import prices for the PRID version, you might as well spend the extra and go for the FE. He's an excellent figure.

I agree with Autobo032. I bought the FE simply because I really like Bulkhead as a character on TF Prime. That being said, I wanted to be sure I had a good representation of him in my collection. It cost me a pretty penny and I had to sacrifice on other things and other figures, but it was worth it. :BOT: Hope that helps some. :BOT:

I just got the FE Bulkhead off RobotKingdom and honestly, the RiD one looks like a cheap knockoff in comparison. If you can get him cheap, get the FE. It is much more screen acurate and doesn't have the saggy breasts (the headlights) of the RiD one. And the size of this thing, damn. He lives up to the name Bulk.

Like mentioned, they both have advantages and disadvantages. FE bulkhead is more show accurate both in vehicle and robot mode. The RiD version is...So-So the vehicle mode looks good missing some details that would make that particular a bit better *Why Hasbro didn't paint the windows a color that wasn't green will always be beyond me...* The weapon like most of the powerizer weapons is rather oversized and awkwardly shaped. As for the robot mode well... It's a good substitute if you lack the funds to get the FE but it pales in comparison when it comes to appearance. He just doesn't feel...bulky enough I guess.

If you give a crap about accuracy, FE is the way to go.

If not, tiny anorexic Bulkhead will be available in your local stores for $21.99 +tax and rationalization.

I have the RiD Bulkhead and I find him to be quite nice. Tho from the pictures I have seen of the FE I feel it might be worth going after that one. But if you are not able to get a FE then the RiD is still go IMO. I will say this he looks best with other RiD toys.

With Bulkhead I value... well, bulk. From what I understand the FE figure delivers on that front quite nicely, whereas the RiD one... eh, not so much. Not gonna hold my breath, but I'm still hoping for RiD Bulkhead to get a re-release SOMEHOW. :BANG_HEAD:

I have FE Bulkhead, the RID just doesn't look right to me. I think that RID is smaller than the FE version so the FE fits better scale wise.

The FE is by far the superior figure, and in my opinion if you get him, you won't be disappointed.

This x10, especially if you're talking about the Takara version, but both the Hasbro and Takara versions are far superior to the PRiD version.

Finally founs RID Bulkhead and I'm not going to lie- he's not as bad as what people make him out to be. Once out of the box you can shift his parts around makiing him look more filled out and "bulky" if you will. I am quite pleased with it myself and this is coming from a guy that was CERTAIN I would eventually pay out the money for FE Bulkhead. The only thing I wish RID Bulkhead would do is flip his hands around into blasters and be able to attach the wrecking ball. Oddly the wrecking ball on his mech tech weapon looks as though it can be removed (haven't taken that part out yet- will have to post yey or ney). Anyways it's not a bad figure by any means and a cheap alternative to FE. If you choose RID over FE you'll be just as happy in my opinion.

I have both and love both. The Fe is better but in my opinion not by much.
Rid is best bang for your buck.... If you find him in a walmart for $19.99. The cheapest i could find the Fe for was $50 and that was when they first hit ebay and i picked one up now your lucky to.find one under $100. Id say get the rid
