I have never cared for Hal Jordan. I don't know why but no matter what the writer, artist, storyline, or in which media there is something about that character that just rubs me the wrong way and I can't make myself remotely care about the character. If this movie was about Kyle Rayner on the other hand I would be the first in line to buy it.

I happen to love Hal Jordan. To each his own, I guess. I think Kyle's okay, but he's no Hal Jordan. Batman and Donna Troy are the two characters at DC that I've never been able to like. Just out of curiosity, are you are Batman fan, Cyberstrike? Because it seems to me that a lot of the people who trash Hal Jordan are Batman fanatics. They must still be pissed off about Hal punching Batman in GL: Rebirth.

How is Batman an asshole? he is one of the best superheros and hes a human, no special powers or attributes to make him do anything. I like Green Lantern I think his character is pretty cool, compared to some other DC Heros. Im excited for the movie thats coming out either next year or the year after it with Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan.

My problem with Bruce Wayne/Batman is that in the last 10+ years or so he comes off as a self-rightous prick that would rather doom the whole DCU rather than admit he made a mistake or was wrong. Added to problem is that as a character I can't relate to him because he has no life, when was the last time he had a serious love interest? I don't relate to Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, or the Hulk, I relate to Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Peter Parker, and Bruce Banner. At least when Frank Miller writes Batman, he comes off as a legimate badass jerk rather than gloomy self-rightious prick.
When Hal Jrodan was the Spectre he was a great complex, 3-dimensional character. Since becoming GL again he reverted back to a dull as dirt character. I stopped reading Green Lantern after the Green Lantern: Rebirth series because IMHO Johns reduced Kyle Rayner to a drooling fanboy and basically destroyed the character in one page.
It's been because Dan DiBio's poor handling of DC Comics in general that I've vowed that I won't buy a DC Comic or any from their various imprints (like Vertigo and Wildstorm) until DiBio leaves the company for good. Right now the only way I'll buy a book from them is unless it's a TPB or HC reprinting a story before DiBio came to DC and/or if I'm 100% sure that in any way, shape, or form does one cent of mine does not go back to DC.

I like the way Dan Didio has been handling DC. I didn't like DC under Jenette Kahn very much. She tried to imitate Marvel, which I thought was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I love Marvel, but I don't think DC should try to be like Marvel. I was glad when Kahn finally left.
