I'm looking for pics of FoC prime and how he sizes up with other toys. i can't seem to find a good size comparison. can anyone help me out? as well as shockwave and jazz? i want to see them compared to other toys besides the other FOC toys because that really does not help.

check out my collection thread, updated 2/25/13, and i kinda lost count, i have to count them again....

Shockwave is about average deluxe height. So, right about as tall as Prime Soundwave.

Look around 3:30 for Generation Soundwave and Prime Soundwave.
Jazz is about a head shorter than RTS Jazz and about the same size as PRiD Knock Out's car mode.

Of course, I don't have FoC OP. It will be a while before I have him.
In the meantime, I made this picture, pointing out the obvious toy shrinkage since 2010.

Now you need to add a graph showing how the prices rise as the size and quality goes down

Got a Beast Wars Deluxe handy? Stand good ol' Waspinator next to WFC Prime. That will give you some real perspective.
In fact, simply weighing the figures on a scale will tell you something as well. TF's these days are made out of such cheap, soft, thin and hollow plasics it's ridiculous. I totally get why, I'm just sayin'.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.
And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!

Re: FOC prime size comparison
when I was a lad, my parents tried to stop buying me TFs after the movie line because they felt the toys were too cheaply made. Now, design issues aside, aren't the majority of G1 toys far superior in materials and construction from the modern ones? Yet I still collect them.
It's a tricky one. Golden age of sizes was probably somewhere between Beast Wars and Energon. Some chunky chunks of plastic there, in general. But some of the engineering these days is amazing. RID was up there in that respect, definitely, although material and quality might be more suspect, from what I hear of the Car Robot brothers and their clear plastic bits. Armada and Energon toys feel like big solid plastic bricks for the most part, but I do love the way modern toys can be posed in more than one way, despite their relative fragility.
It's swings and roundabouts, really, and that's why I try not to think too much about what has come before or will happen in the future, but focus on the present and what we can get for how much. It bugs me from the point of view of integrating new releases with my older collection that the new ones are so much smaller, but I'm not keen on the increased price. Were the official toys to have stayed at the old sizes we might be getting nearer to the 3rd party toys prices for some of them. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing for those of us who are simply spending our disposable income on these things, but I do like the idea that kids might want to buy Transformers, and be able to save up some pocket money to do so. If they're $20 a pop for an average Deluxe class, they'll pick up some Thundercats or Pokemon or MadBalls or whatever is hip these days.

You may be American. Your prices are starting to get close to the ones we Canadian have. In Canada, at regular price, in TrU, a TF deluxe is around 19.50$ taxes included at full price. Yeah, I bought the ones I did not want to wait for or miss out at that price. Meaning, a lot.
So my guess is YOU will do the same.
Just be glad that we dont have European/Asian prices... yet.
