I do like the Menasor design one of the better ones on giant Planet. Duragrip omega supreme isn't a great design in the first place and especially now, there's tons of better molds and toys. Look at Masterpiece Star Saber, that
is a design and a half, you can't say that omega holds up to that one

Omega Doom and Omega Supreme are what we call counterparts: Supreme is from this universe, Doom is from another where good is evil, and vice-versa. Good Omega vs. Evil Omega. :)
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Star Saber looks like he borrowed from Optimus Prime, Ultramagnus, and Superion. G1 Omega Supreme's design was simple and original, nothing like anything before. Stop stealing from the original and stamping a different name on it to sell a new toy.

That's exactly what Hasbro did when they made Omega Supreme. They took the Super Change Robo Mechabot-1 from ToyBox, changed its colors and stamped the name "Omega Supreme" on it.

What's more is that Omega Supreme was originally going to be named "Fortress Maximus" before that name was later given to the real Fort Max.

You guys think there are plans for making a "classic" Omega Supreme, ala Metroplex? That would be really cool if ever they also make a Devastator to go with their Combiner Wars.

Seeing as they didn't make another Titan after Metroplex, I'm not getting my hopes up for another Titan anytime soon.

Plus, they already made the Platinum Edition "Year of the Snake" Omega Supreme not too long ago.

Yeahhhh...Omega simple? Well if your talking articulation, then yes it's a brick. More so then other bricks that came after him. I find his design q bit bland. Star saber is much more dynamic and his masterpiece upgrade means he can do things omega can only dream of...plus there is no facts to back this up, but I think Victory Saber could trash omega.

If theoretically a new updated G1nesque OS is made, would you prefer him to be a "walker" or just plain parts former + tracks? I prefer the latter. I really hate battery gimmicks unless the gimmick is a separate voice box/sound effect dohickey.

Star Saber is more or less homages the RX-78 Gundam Mobile suit with the V-star looking almost like the G-Core fighter attached to the Core booster.

I want more electronic gimmicks. I love your idea about a voice box/sound effects. I want G1 Omega Supreme to be able to talk, have voice recognition software like Siri, be able to bend at the knee. It would also be cool if his movement could be controlled remotely using a smart phone. He would also make a great security system. Perhaps put an Arduino board inside him. You're giving me so many great ideas!

Maybe by your standards.. but G1 Omega was super fun to play with.

A rocket ship.. and a motorized tank .. and he transformed and walked.. dude

A chip in a new Omega that could work with an app on your phone is totally feasible.

I'd rather have toys that I can play with than have toys that play by themselves without me.

Removing playability with the owner takes away from the fun.

But you're not removing playability by adding in a function that allows you to control him with an App through your phone or tablet.

It's no different to remote controlled vehicles, or do you not like them as well? 'cause if you don't, that's just another reason to dislike you.

Do you mean the whole thread, or just what I said?

If the latter, I mean that I'd rather have toys that I can play with over toys that do everything by themselves without needing the owner to do anything, since having a does that everything on its own without any interaction with the owner is no fun for the owner.

If the former, it's a Geewun-based thread, by which I mean that as an objective matter of fact rather than as any sort of insult.

Remote-controlled vehicles are fun since they're being driven around by the operator and are meant to emulate the moving of real vehicles on a smaller scale.

Remote-controlled action figures, however, kinda defeat the purpose of their being action figures if they're meant to be operated from a distance rather than played with up close and personal. Unless, of course, they're the kind of toy meant to be used in some sort of competitive play pattern like arena-based fighting or racing or something.

But I liken action figures that do everything by themselves to a ball that rolls, bounces, and throws itself, leaving the person who wants to play with said ball out of the equation. After all, what's the point in playing with a ball if it does all the effort for you while you just stand there and watch?

I know where you're coming from Saberblade. You like the tactile, manual interaction of play.

I'm not saying to take away any of the manual articulation. I'm just suggesting adding electronic features. If anyone doesn't like those features they can simply flip the power switch to the off position and/or take out the batteries.

I want as much tech in G1 Omega Supreme as possible because he is a "robot". Robots by their very nature have circuitry and software in them. They need powerful motors to move their limbs. Robots require chips and programming to know how to interact with the world around them.

I would not want these gizmos in my human action figures because they're not robots; they're flesh and blood.

I don't think G1 Omega Supreme would be much of a robot if he could not at least walk by himself. So why not give him the ability to talk. We could program in C or Java his actions and speech patterns. The toy could be upgradeable with the ability to swap out parts with better parts. We could add different sensors to him, so that he would respond to light, heat, water, motion, moisture, danger, intruders, etc. We could wirelessly connect him to the Internet, log in via a smartphone app right into his bios, hard drive, memory, and run diagnostics, download/upload data and information, send commands just to name a few. With a large enough hard drive, sufficent memory, very sophisticated microcontrollers, and advanced microprocessors you could program code of infinite complexity into G1 Omega Supreme with the only limitation being our imaginations. We could share code. Different fans could create different apps and functions for him. We'd all be developers, creating various libraries of functions, scripts, classes, and routines to draw from. For example, if a virus infects Omega we would be prepared to run the subroutine 'Ratchet' that a fan created to fix the problem.

The ultimate goal would be for G1 Omega Supreme to eventually achieve consciousness, cognition, self-awareness, sentience, and free will. We could talk to him via an app on our phones, text him, just like a friend. The app would be called Teletraan 1.

That does not sound pointless to me. It sounds like worthwhile play and fun. For me adding robotics into a robot makes sense and adds realism to the play. Being able to make him smart by patching into and interfacing with G1 Omega Supreme, and inputting the code I designed and programmed sounds like real play. It would also make me feel involved, like an active participant. I could create algorithms, scripts, and subroutines for G1 Omega Supreme, modeling his personality after the G1 cartoon. Like G1 Shockwave said, it's time for the next generation of Transformers. I want G1 Omega Supreme to become the hub of people's homes and lives.

I understand though that most people are not techies. Most people find math and science boring. Artists in this world (eg. actors, musicians, writers, etc) and athletes are usually the ones who are held in higher esteem, grabbing the attention. Tech is just not seen as glamorous and sexy. I get that. So that's why I understand it when people see all of that as pointless, nothing and non-stimulating.

Know why you shouldn't put electronics into TF's?

Because the space required for them often takes away from another aspect of what could be a great figure, e.g. pose-ability, or the Transformation is over-simplified.

... eh, what's the point. All those in favor of the thread being locked speak up now.
