Eh... paint chips can come from the factory should the paint be bubbled or have something under it that eventually breaks free. It has nothing to do with playing with the figure. I've been relatively lucky too, my Magnus had a paint chip on his one lower leg fresh from the packaging, but otherwise, I've done alright.
But yeah, one of the chest doors looks like it was a replacement piece from a different batch of parts. It's a little darker but it still matches better than half the bumpers out on factory fresh cars these days.

Haha, exactly!

I'm afraid to open my other Takara MP boxes until I get my second batch in but I can easily say that the Hasbro boxes make it a lot easier to identify the "faulty" assembled primes.

You know that thing about seeing a kitchen in a restaurant and not wanting to eat there... well the same goes for everything else out there. You just gotta hope quality control catches the majority and the minority isn't something that'll kill you one day.
Bonger-- I just told him the same thing in a different thread. I'd say great minds and such, but you probably don't want to be associated with my mind.
All the same, I'm glad you have your MP Prime, Altertron. Leave that chip alone.

Man I don't know if I'd start screwing around with painting a MP after you just spent a ton of money on it. Especially if you haven't tried it before. I'd hate to see yet another MP-04 thread where you've trashed it with a bad paint job.

btw should i use metallic blue to cover up the chipped area of the leg? one more thing would it kick ass if i paint the upper thighs from grey to chrome?
We must be dead to him Bonger.
Chrome paint never really looks as good as you want it too. And Primes upper legs are grey... so no, leave 'em be.

Two people, not including myself, have already recommended that you NOT paint over the chip. It will probably not match and end up looking worse. Just enjoy your MP-04 and know that no toy is perfect.

for the love of all things holey.. if you do anymore than transform that toy once or twice, you'll get a good thumping.
so it's got a little chip. dig deal. in fact, i'm sure no one will ever notice.

which mp figure will cost more in the future?
okay if people are pissed off if i make a new thread everytime about the same subject. sorry since my interest is soley on the masterpiece line. so i would like to know which figures you think will go high in values in 10 years or more. mp-01 to mp06. i personally think megatron or ultra magnus or the limited golden painted optimus prime will become more valuable in the future.
- Altertron
ultra mag is worth a lot of money.
seeing as he was a japanese only release..
he's at least worth double in the past year.

Well, I wouldn't even put the Golden Lagoon figure in the same boat as all the others.
As for which one will be of higher value... who cares. Value is relative to the collector as you have so modestly pointed out with all your bitching about the DVD Prime. You may not like him, but for some he's all they can afford and they're happy enough with him.
And honestly, if you ever sell that figure just to make a quick buck after all the threads and begging for tips on how to find MP Prime, I'm gonna round up Bonger, Decepticon Jon and anyone else that's willing to tag along and smack some sense into your head. I'd say I'm just kidding, but honestly, you better keep that figure till you die and then stick it in your casket with you.
