It's not just the "hardcore punk" scene that has lost a crapload of greats due to drugs.

John Belushi, Chris Farley, Mitch Hedberg to name a few.

You're rebelling against rebelling, trying to overturn the whole "sex, drugs, and rock n' roll" stereotype so some good artists won't end up dead by their mid-twenties.

Although "good" and "hardcore punk" really don't belong in the same sentence.

Also, by rebelling against rebelling against the establishment for a day. You've basically waived all rights to not be made fun of.

Im not looking down on anyone. I'm not anti-weed, anti-alcohol, etc. If anything, I think its retarded to look down on something before trying it first. I'm very pro-weed, I think it should be legal, I think the government is full of **** for trying to get rid of hemp farms long ago. I just don't do it myself. The only reason I was saying "You'll never understand" is because unless he experienced this particular music scene for himself, he'd have a better reasoning for saying the things he has been saying.

Haha, and it wasn't really something that I'd just pick up for a day and drop the next. The whole edge day thing is a joke that someone kinda picked up and went with. Its like the anniversary of this particular band (Ten Yard Fight) who broke up eight years ago.
