I do not recommend Digital Toys, because...

They sold me a Megatron that broke when I transformed him, wanted to return it, called them, e mailed them, and by 1 week was over they haven't responded AT ALL.

Though Autobot032 wan't too gentle about it, he is right. Broken toys are the mnaufacturers probe. You only recourse is to return it to Takara and they will send you a toy of equal vaue, not necesarily the same one.

The same goes for Hasbro and most ty stores. I think in the US, we are realy spolied by the big department stores.

Anywho, post some pics. Maybe we can help you fix it since I'm sure a lot of us have assembled a G1 Megs from junk pieces.

You're right. I wasn't gentle about it. I already apologized for it at the end of my post and I'll do so again. I'm sorry I was so harsh, I shouldn't have been.

It's just that posts like Eradicator's, can actually do damage to a store's reputation. It's bad because people read it, think the worst and it's not even the store's fault. Doesn't seem fair, does it? That's because it's not.

Motto: "Run away! Run away!"
I understand how every store has a policy with regards to returns, but we are not only paying for a product, we are also paying for some type customer service.

I think Eradicator should at least get a response back! Even if it says, "Sorry, but you opened it and broke it, and as per our stated policy we can't exchange it".

Companies that ignore my emails or calls and pretty much leave me in the dark don't get any more of my business.

Frankly I never understood why a store would not respond back to their customers or potential customers. It's SO easy and part of running a good business!

Does their return policy suck? Yep, but all the stores (BBTS included) do it. Plus these are collectible items, once opened...the value just plummets through the floor. It's like driving a car off of the car lot and it's already been depreciated by driving it.

Sorry to be cruel about it, but this is how it is.

Wrong.

The little tab connecting the upper chest to the torso was BROKEN when I opened it. Obviously in shipping there was pressure applied to the tab and it eventually broke off in shipping.

....but you still opened the package. Once you opened the package, you nullified your chance to return it. You couldn't tell it was broken by looking at it in package. You only knew it was broken when you OPENED it.

Again I say, you opened it, you forfeited your chance for a refund or even a return.

That isn't the point! You're completely missing it! Whether or not the item was broken during shipment or from the factory isn't the problem. The problem is you opened the package! Their policy strictly states "original UNOPENED condition".

You opened it. Automatically forfeited your right to return.
Had the packaging been crushed like crazy and it was opened due to that, then you could've gotten the return process to work. That wasn't the case.

And besides...you were the one that broke it. Reissue Megatrons are notorious for that tab breaking. Mine almost did. They don't warn you about it in the instructions either.

I can't remember which movement breaks it...it's either:

a.) turning chamber assembly, then opening up the chest.
or
b.) opening up the chest, then turning the assembly.

One of those two does it, but that's how your tab was broken. Others have done it with reissues of past.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but even if it had been broken from the factory...there's nothing Digital Toys can do. Their F.A.Q. clearly states you can return an unopened item. You opened it, it can't be returned. You broke it (or they have no way to verify that you didn't), it can't be returned.

Getting angry with them will do you no good. Getting angry with Takara's designers will do you no good either, but it does feel good to vent, because they could've been clearer.

You're bad mouthing DT for no good reason, and it can hurt a store's reputation especially when they've done nothing wrong.

Besides...if you're this confrontational and argumentative on here, I can't even begin to imagine how you acted with DT. That's most likely the reason they didn't answer you about this. I've spoken to Mike (the owner) on AIM several times and he's always been incredibly polite and kind.

He's always answered all of my questions, emails, and yes...even phone calls (I've literally spoken to the man himself, on the phone, to make an order!)

He's not a prick. He's a legitimate businessman and he does respond to his customers or potential customers in a courteous manner.

One other thing, how do you know that he didn't go on vacation or something? I have the feeling that you didn't get a response, so you lobbed a volley of complaints and nasty toned phone calls, etc.

If I was him and you didn't follow the F.A.Q. (which is plain as day) and you badgered me, and dissed me on the boards when it's clearly your problem...yeah. I wouldn't be willing to respond either. Why? Because nothing I could do would ever make a customer like you happy.

But...the fact that Megatron broke...is the one major reason I don't buy online much, if at all. I know ahead of time they won't take a purchase back once I've opened it. (None of the online retailers will)

Then you add in the extra expense that comes with online selling, and it just doesn't work for me. I only use it in desperation.

I just bought something from them recently, off eBay. They didnt send me an email saying that my item was shipped so either it hasnt been shipped yet (which seems strange because I bought it last week) or that they just dont send an email when your item is shipped. So I will reserve judgment for when or if my item arrives.

I don't know, I think it might be the funniest thread I've read in a while, but then again that's just my opinion.

I think we can lock this one though, it's served it's purpose.
