I collected transformers and other action figures (mostly transformers though) throughout high school, college, and six years of Marine corps infantry only to end up with a badass job, beautiful wife, and a wonderful little girl who all share the same love and enthusiasm for the same things that used to qualify people like us for loneliness and ridicule.
So, why worry about it, look at the numbers, even if it was a bad thing to love what we do, we are the majority now anyway.

Didn' the get turned into a nerd in Revenge of the Nerds III: Nerds in paradise?
Oh, how the mighty have fallen...
I believe everyone has nerdish and geekish tendencies, and some cool tendencies too. It's all about your attitude, and confidence. Nerds and geeks tend to be thought of as those who are weak, and meek, with no guts, and no confidence, who let others prey on them for whatever reasons.

Yeah that's Ogre. He did turn into a nerd at the end of II, cause his jock buddies left him marooned with all the 'nerds' who ended up being more loyal to him.

Besides, from what I've seen lately it's cool to be a geek. Who did Megan Fox end up with at the end of the movie, hmmm?
how much did Megan Fox get paid for that?
Dude you're putting way too much thought into this. But Megan is a big comic book fan, she is quite fond of Michael Turner's work. That's pretty hot and geeky in my book.
Well, guess we know now that Ms. Fox doesn't have a foot fetish.

His real name is Donald Gibb. Also in Bloodsport with Jean Claude Van Damme. He was pretty much the #1 meat head in many 80's movies. Some of you youngins probably never saw "The Goonies" either.![]()
He's not in that movie, but still ... boy am I getting old.

If we ever get up to Michagan in the next year or two, we're definately taking you and your wife out to dinner.

Insomniac_Malik wrote:I know what you mean. I'm an artist/musician, play in a rock/metal band, have lots of tattoos, etc. But if I bring someone new to my house they're usually really surprised I have 'toys' on display i.e. TF's. I've found when people go, "do you really PLAY with them?" I just go, "they're kind of more like really cool looking puzzle boxes."
If you've got an expendable one that you don't really care about, (the new DreadWing one is a great example, he's awful) I'll give it to em to play with, and about 7 out of 10 times the person will actually end up 'playing' with them for about 20-30 minutes themselves, lol.
I think some of it is moderation though. If you're a 30 year old man with Transformer bedsheets and pillowcases and a collection of 3000 Transformers that's taken over your house, even I would kind of think that was a little bizarre.
But to each thier own. They're cool, fun to transform, and who cares what other people think anyway.

I'm a guy who hates Emos, even the ones who don't shut the hell up about being emo.
I also hate people who say they're otakus... "LMAO, OMFG im so otaku, i watch naruto, heres mi gaia avatar, mcr are soooooo the best band evar!!!"
Not only are they not Otaku (requirements to be Otaku: Male, Japanese, Virgin, never showers, collect perverse figurines, manga, and anime.)
These kids aren't Otakus, they're Weeaboos...
There's also people who CLAIM to be nerds, like its a social status you want to be, They claim to be Spider-man freaks yet do no know who Red Venom and Black Carnage are, think the Spider-man movies are too the very comic books, and think that Peter Parker doing emo-jazz stuff is awesome.
