How do transformers get rid of robot form?
Kind of confusing question but for instance in Beast Machine Megatron has his dragon form whcih he doesn't like, who does he not just get rid of it? Like lets just say can a transformer once they have picked a form ever go back to just their regular "prototype" form or do they have to stay with it or change into something else? I am also thinking that the beast forms might be different than the other vechincal forms. ANd maybe thats why when they pick a name like "cheetor" its because he has never tranformed before. Idk thanks for the help!

The TM2 technology is vastly different from other technologies seen so far. It's probably connected directly to Megatron's spark since the technology came from a spark merger in the first place.
So as a result, Megatron would have done some massive reconfiguring to both his body and spark to eliminate this.

yes I understand that but what I am asking is let's say for example I am an autobot and I transform into a fire truck, when I go to robot mode I will have partsof the fire truck on my body, the ladder e.c.t. how would I turn backinto my original autobot form and not have any firetruck parts? Is that ever explained?

Reformatting is the term you're looking for. It's really nothing special since most TF's do it every couple of decades to stay up to date.
