Predaprince wrote:I hate the look of the Bay-formers, but I think the Prime designs are a good way of taking that look and toning it down. I've come to the unwanted realization that they will most likely never go back to G1 designs. As long as it isn't as "junky" as it is in the movies, then I will try to, at least, tolerate any new look of future shows. Even though they still remain my favorite TF series, I am not a G1 or BW purists that blindly complains about anything that is new and different.

Burn:Anyone notice how much of a boring party pooper N_V is? He doesn't join in the fun, he's spent the last few years with dodgy builds feeding XP to the Autobots, and he sure as heck doesn't spam.
disruptor96: I forgot how insane you were.
Burn wrote: Spam. It's what powers the HMW part of the server.

I quite agree. While I did like most of the Bayformers (aside from Doritoscream and a large bit of Megatron) I don't quite like the looks of some of the characters in Prime. I don't like how Starscream looks, and once I saw him it made me stop watching.NiteStar wrote:More classic block look but with a modern edge like in War for Cybertron; I love those designs. Less skinny-alien-Insect-look like Bayformers or like Starscream and Soundwave in TF Prime.
I hate the way they look in TF Prime with their skinny long tentacle-like fingers and toothpick legs.
WHo in their right mind thought that was a good idea?!!

If they make a new series, they have to get some of these guys right. Certain guys have a look that is iconic, and if they screw that up, then they become unrecognizable.
Megatron always is the leader, and is only one with the large cannon on his arm.
Starscream is always a flyer, with a handsome look and is a backstabbing traitor.
Soundwave is usually blue, has a mask and has a monotone synth voice.
And so on.
So if a new series came out, it should look like this:
It should be an incomplete throwback to G1. The bots should look like the G1 guys, but not look like a bunch of boxes. They could look real and detailed like they did in TF2007, but not have the insect look. And give the 'Cons the 'predatory' look like they had in Animated. I loved how the Seekers had the high narrow wings and (what might have been) claws on the end of their fingers. And Megatron looked like he could do some major damage.
The 'Bots should look like they are capable, but not look like they were obviously built for war either.
I don't think they would do this much for a children's show, but if they did something like this for the adults (like they did with GIJoe) then it could rock.
It already is. WFC, Exodus, Prime, WFC2, and Exiles are all part of the same modern Aligned Continuity Family which will continue throughout the next decade or so.NiteStar wrote:I still think they should make War for Cybertron into a series instead.

Exactly. Its like if they took a new Superman series or film and made him with a purple and green suit and blonde hair, or Batman with no pointy ears and in a yellow suit with no cape. They don't f*ck around with their iconic looks so they shouldn't f*ck around with iconic Transformer looks. What came first, came first and should stay.
And going back to the block look of Transformers dosen't mean they have to be straight G1 blocks. They can elaborate like you said and be more detailed and refined. Like in War for Cybertron, I think they did a great job with that. All the characters were obviously modeled after G1 but with more detail and added tech specs to them.
I still think they should make War for Cybertron into a series instead.

BS. In the movies, the superhero's costumes are always different from what they are in the cartoons. You can't freaking make cars out of blocks all the time! No one drives those cars anymore!

So in my oppinion they should have blocky main design but with a touch of higher tech

Agreed. RiD had a great art design for its bots.Name_Violation wrote:godzillabot wrote:I really like G1 brickbots but I like the realism that the movie brought to the Transformers![]()
