I can't figure out what these Transformers are?

Postby JFK » Thu Sep 06, 2007 4:29 pm

OK, so I bought a set of four Transformers from Toys R Us in Times Square in 2001. I do still have their packets and instructions but they are boxed away in storage.

Since I've recently got back into Transformers I pulled them out of my toy collection box to put on my shelf, but I can't for the life of me remember who they are - I've even browsed the toy gallery A-Z to see if I can spot them but I've had no luck.

They are all Autobots and combine together to create one huge bot, very very similar to Constructicons in that they are all work vehicles and combine together.

The one with the larger head (the leader if I remember) is an Orange Digger/Shoveler (similar to Cybertron Landmine).

Two are very similar and form the legs, one is a Green Digger with an arm, the other is a Red Crane with a hook on the end which is the combined bot's gun.

The last is a Yellow Dump Truck, the dumper section comes off to form the combined bot's shield.

The main reason I am posting this is that I can't figure out how they fix together to form the giant bot, and can't find any images that would be a guide as I don't know what they are called.

I can post images if they are needed, but I was wondering if anyone knew what I was talking about? Online instructions would be awesome too!

Thanks.

I think I know what you're talking about, but I don't know the name of them. I didn't pay attention to the Transformers coming out at that time, so my knowledge of them is lacking.

They were the first 'newer' Transformers that I bought, mainly because I was on vacation and buying loads of toys to bring back home, but it's really bugging me and I can't find an answer.

They're the Build Team from Robots in Disguise. The orange one is Wedge, the red one is Hightowe, the yellow one is Heavy Load, and the green one is Grimlock. The combine to form Landfill.

Yes! That's the one!

I just narrowed it down to the RiD toyline but still couldn't find them in the gallery section!

Cheers dude, now all I need is a picture or some instructions.

Ahh yes the elusive Landfill. Here maybe this might work for you.

The smaller orange robot has a 3 sided connector on the back, this connects to the hole fomred by the other 3 bots, when they are connected
Image

The center hole is made by connecting the long connection arms using the tabs and slots.

The final product looks like this:

BTW, any of the larger bots can form either a leg or the arms. I usually place the green scoop, Grimlock, as the arms.

This set was also released last year as a Target exclusive in G1 Devastator colors (green & purple).

Which is easily the best color scheme of all 3 of the Landfill releases. It is a great set figures though.
