How would you think the Dinobots would be used? I mean, where would the Cybertronian scan the dinosaurs? Will it end up looking like Scorponok? A metallic dinosaur like the G1 version. How would that disguise them, in such size? A cousin of mine said they could scan some animatronic dinosaurs from museum or theme park for this..but won't they'll look like Beast Wars characters that way?

Those of you wished for the Dinobots appearence in the sequel..care to explain how they would be used.

Oh yes, for some reason, I think gestalt or combiners won't appear at all at the sequels...so here's my suggestion,

A Battleship as Bruticus's alternate mode.

The size, the firepower. I don't know bout you guys but I think it'll be great.

Although I love the Dinobots I think for this movie they should be sidelined. A certain amount of leway was granded in the OS as to how they go un noticed as a huge dinosaur. Or they used them in remote locations. I dont want that cause part of this movies coolness came from the city combat and the use of their ability to hide. They shouldnt stray from that. This cant become campy like a cartoon, the quality and the exsistance of sequals beond TF2 depend on it.
Stick with what works. Lets not ruin it by influencing the wrong person with a bad idea. The mold for this universe is set; messing with it would be bad. Mirage, Sideswipe, SunStreaker, CLiffjumper, Wheeljack, Seekers(2+SS), Soundwave, Rumble, Shockwave, The Throttlebots, Blitzwing and maybe even Devastator if done right are examlpes of the bots I think we should be seeing. Not these off the wall types that just would not seem to fit in this new world.
Even Bays idea of a battle ship TF is a bad idea and scares me. To big. He transforms once and he would never lose someone/thing that saw it and wants to get him. And again; limited use only at sea, unless we need another godzilla movie.....

I totally agree, I think introducing the Dinobots into the movie universe is a terrible idea and I really hope the movie doesn't go that direction. I'm sick of everyone always wanting everything to be like G1, I'm ready for something new.

the dinobots would be hard to put in if they are going to be dinosaurs. if they are going to be that, then dont put them in. bay could change it up and make them all some kinda of vehicle but that wouldnt really seem right. now, i wouldnt mind devastator and all the constructicons.
but just give us more robots and more story evolved around them!

Dino lovers would freak out of the 5 bots were not dinosaurs, and we'd see fun threads with them spewing out their rage.

Oie, if anything, 1 or 2 dinobots, grimlock and swoop maybe. Alt modes, muh, just think of all the things that could potentially be changed for the movie

- their names, dinobots? that would have to change as they wouldnt be dinosaurs, unless we can think of a cool name that has the word dino or dyno it.. dyno/demo bots? lol

- their voices, that wouldnt work ( i dont think )

- Their humour (use to come in the form of their.. well.. dumbness), so we would end up getting modern humour with grimlock lubricating all over bumblebee ors omething

I think they would be so heavly modified that they wouldnt realy be the dinobots anymore, and yes they heavely modified some characters in this movie, but I think modifying grimlock would spell disaster, just like if Prime was heavly modified personality wise.

please dear god no dinobots, they wont work...at all.


and to be honest i dont even want g1 characters to show up, i want them to create brand new characters like they did with the decepticons

allthough i do want soundwave

yee, completely new characters would be nice. make it so its something new and not g1!

Grimlock - M1 Abrams
Sludje - US military transport truck
Swoop - some ground attak aircraft (a small one)
Slag - demoliton version of the M60 tank

Totally agree, I'd like to see Shockwave as well. Other than that I don't really care if any other G1 characters make it into the next film. It's time for something ORIGINAL.

exactly. if you want g1, then go back and watch all your g1 shows! this is something new so dont expect everything to be g1-ish as it wont be, which is good! its time for something new.

While I dont mind new, Any car they turn into a robot cant be new, its been done in TFs a million times. Same with planes & trains. So a so called "new" personality in an unused alt would be new, yes, but cant really happen at this point.(Barricade being a possible exeption pending on if hes even alive and how they continue to expand his personality. A decepticon cop car is a first I think) Otherwise it would be "this is so and so and so and so mixed together." Or this guys alt and that guys personality with a new name. It has already happened. Blackout( vortex )anyone? People who know the history generaly are going to do this and people who dont wont know this guys been seen before. Might as well use the names they already have trademarked and work with it and the base persona that comes with it.

Outside the fact this universe is geared for realism, It is still very much G1. Sorry if that makes the whole thing less for you, but you have got to come to grips with it.

I think the dinobots shouldnt be in the sequel... I mean its like what i said in another post, you see a bunch of vehicles fighting then WTF a dinosaur rushes out and attacks!!!!! it just wouldnt make sense... Plus, makin dinobots wouldnt be right, cause then a whole bunch of people would be mad that grimlock was a car...

I like all this about him too but like the guy above me said.....

Its not like we dont have alot of choices for cool characters but they need to move forward cautiously with character selection cause not only does it have to be cool as hell it has to make lots of money so we can get 3 and 4. By then the story can have us on Cybertron or eath in the future after the war has evolved to it being general knowlage. Then, some of these ideas would work better. 8 to 10 years from now/ yeah I can wait to see some people till they can be done right. Imagine the differance in graphics.

In my mind there is one and only one way to introduce the Dinobots and thats exactly the way they were used in the Original film.

If for example the Cons do end up with Devastator then they would have a massive power shift in their favour. Unless the Autobots immediately answered back with say, Superion then theyre going to need someway of taking the big fella down. In this respect they realise they cant find any earth vehicles with the power to do it and instead come across the idea of the Dinobots.
There are very Few Transformers that are Bigger and more powerfull (offensively) in their alt forms and as such use these modes as less of a disguise and more of an offensive change. (Ie Slag buldozing Devastator into a Wall in the original couldnt have been done in Robot form)

Plus with all the action in mid city in the last film then i dont think there would be anyway to hide the fact that theyre here and the Alt modes now i think would be regarded more as a way to move around without causing commotion (ooh look at that big robot!) rather than an actual disguise.

Have five or six plus some humans teamup on him(Devastator). And Im assuming they are going with the idea this hasnt become general news yet, and the coverup was somewhat sucessful.Otherwise why the last 2 minutes of the movie? But yeah, as the sequals go on some of these guys would fit better as the need for complete discression diminishes. Maybe in #3 the dinobots can get some action.

The teaming up thing seems a little off.
The only thing that kinda throws me is the fact that Jazz was bitched so easily by Megs i cant see the outcome being so different if it was 5 Jazz's vs Megs.

In that respect the scale was very Similar to how Devastator appeared to alot of the other normal (ie Gestalts or City-formers) Transformers (all but the Dinobots) such as throwing him around 1 Handed.

The only way they could show how vastly dominant a Gestalt could be (and not just a bigger bot since we already have that comparison) would be to make him considerably tougher, heavier armour and therefore need something with more power to take him down.

I really liked Bay's film. When I first heard what was happening with this movie, I wasn't too sure if it was going to be good. I was being a bit of a 'G1 purist.' But let me tell you now... I loved the new Transformers movie! It was awesome! I liked all the changes, and I was glad it wasn't like G1. I'm definitely ready for something new. I'm really looking forward to the next movie.

Jazz wasnt very tough and was small. Ironhide, Prime and some new guys that are the next class up could beat him if they worked together. Remember Megs has no known weaknesses but Devatstator was stupid and clumbsy. And I think he would probably be a bit smaller here cause he grew quite a bit when he combined in the cartoon. Just got to get them to disassemble.

Thats a potenital but id say Museum would be the best bet.
Would also be the best way to explain a robotic form.
Since scanning a Skeleton would give only a basic shape for them to build around, other than that its just mapping a robotic body over that skeletal frame.

I was thinking that maybe Devestator was too powerful and the auotbots had to think of a strategy. Sam suggests maybe they should stop thinking about vehicels and use an "animal" strategy and when asked by the autobots what were the toughest animals of all time, he would suggest dinosaurs.

But, I really don't think the Dinobots would work.

The compromise may be that we only get Grimlock but we get Superion to fight Devastator.

However, I like Getter's idea about the strongest animals....

Agreed. The only nostalgic entities I want are Grimlock and Soundwave. And someone said some type of aircraft carrier wouldnt work. That I cant go along with. A Tidal Wave type guy would be an amazing achievement. Megatron and the other decepticons are underwater, now anyway. Imagine the battle. Sure nothing could hurt him externally, but as big as he is you could take him down from the inside. Imagine the transformation. And he would only reveal himself one time. He has no intention of hiding again.
