The Target at Howard and Kedzie in Chicago has one Scalpel, and one each of the HA Sideswipe and Bumblebee.

I got ROTF Swerve and the Ice Cream Twins at Kohl's, near Finley Rd. and Butterfield Rd.! They're $12.99, but were on sale for buy one, get one half-off, so they came out to about $10.50 with tax. Check your local Kohlseseses!

I know, right? I said the same thing during the big TF1 Deluxe Bumblebee hunt way back in aught-7. Sure enough, that's where I found him, and several other Movie figs too. Like I said, they're usualy a buck or 2 more there, but often on sale in one form or another.
Brace yourself, tho, their toy sections are often in complete, shocking disarray, so be patient and thorough. Good luck!

I see our Illinois friends over at TFW are having some difficulties. Wish they'd move over here to help make the Illinois forum on Seibertron.com more popular like our Michigan forum is. Plus they've got one of their own Chicagoans (ahem ... me) as the owner of this site. It'd be really awesome to get more of them over here. I'll get those guys over here eventually! They're an awesome group of guys, except for the fact that they post on TFW. But we won't hold that against them. Or will we?

Kohl's comes through once in a while because of exactly what you said ... no one thinks to look there. During 2004 or 2005, we had a drought where there were no new figures in stores for almost 6 months. Energon Wheeljack, I mean "Downshift", and Tow-Line showed up first at Kohl's of all places about a month before they started showing up at the mainstream toy stores. Kohl's is also good for finding figures that you might've missed that have been out for a few months as well.

I know what you want to hold against me.
I had a clerk at Target on Elston pull an HA SS out of the back for me. That is the closest thing to a sighting I have had in weeks.
Honestly, as long as you don't mind off topic talk in this thread, I am sure the TFW guys would be happy to come over here.

Two years ago, I would've said I minded. But after following the TFW Illinois thread and watching it in comparison to our Michigan thread here, I get the point of these sightings forums. I wish I had listened to my staff years ago when they wanted to originally start up the state/region specific sightings forums but I was stubborn and didn't want to, hence why some of the sightings threads on this site aren't as popular.
As long as you guys post sightings when you find them, I don't care if there's off-topic conversations here as long as you guys are having fun and respect our site's rules, which I think are a little more laid back than TFW. You certainly don't get banned for stupid things, unless you're harassing a member on this site or are giving problems to the staff on this site. We just ask that people respect one another, be courteous, friendly and all of that good stuff. I've never seen you guys be out-of-line on the TFW Illinois thread. The forums here are for discussion. We expect that some discussions are going to get heated, sometimes off-color, and that people are going to disagree. That's the point, as far as I'm concerned. If you do get suspended from here, you get 3 chances unless it's something really severe.

I'm definitely open to suggestions. I'm all ears if you guys have some ideas on how to improve these forums to make them more appealing to you guys, whether it's the appearance or by adding some additional forums that you guys like (such as forums for high-end collectors or things of that nature).

I think I am just spoiled by the 3 different vBulletin forums I use daily.

I thought about switching to vbulletin a while back but I couldn't do it since vbulletin is behind the times and still codes their forums with old school html/tables and not with css. vbulletin is nice, but i prefer the more modern coding standards of phpBB.
Colors and layout, that's fully within my control however. Color styling phpBB is not one of my strong suits ... definitely open to suggestions and ideas, however.

So why'd they kick you off of TFW anyway?
I'm all for posting here more often. It's annoying how often I get repeat updates from TFW forums.
Sadly, I have no new sightings that the moment.

Greetings all! Glad to see some activity here. As far as sightings, I've seen nothing. I made a promise that I would not buy a Transformer for 1 week with the girlfriend. So I've stayed out of stores, but I'll be damned if I have not shopped online! Orderd the city commander add ons from tfsource, cause they are cheaper than BBTS has them. Also ordered from them Buster Prime.

Downtown Target had leader Jetfire today, also HA Sideswipe, Crestwood Walmart also had Jetfire, and a ton of Arcee's, and a couple scorponok's, and at least 10 each skywarp & Ramjet for $22. Target out there had Devastator, and nothing worth mentioning. Target on 119th & the i57 had the icecream twins. Orland target was a big nada, Walmart much the same. Seems like the further south I go the poorer the selections were. To date even though I have them already, I have not seen a Grindor or Long Haul at retail.

Re: Illinois sightings.
Is this where all the cool people hang out now?
Seibertron, I'm also a programmer and I also hate/suck at visual design. One thing that bugs me here is the way the forums seem to be horizontally squooshed. There's just too much going on in the margins near the top, and too much empty space once you get a few screen-height's down. Feels a little claustrophobic. (Maybe you remember meeting me at BotCon, on Sunday we chatted briefly while I was waiting for my airport shuttle.)
Nice to see you, Paul. I totally agree that the mods suck over at TFW, but you pretty much invited them to banninate you when you made that dupe account. Was that the intention? But hey, if that gets the IL crowd to move outta there, fantastic!

Hey Paul, tried to send out a PM about Ript Apparel. You know you have PMs disabled?
Want to know if there's a chance I can get yesterday's shirt (peas in pod) for my wife, since I forgot to order it after work yesterday. Hit me at "grant" at my site "grantb.net". It's cool if the answer's no, but no harm in asking, right?
