That interview is similar to the conversation myself and a friend had yesterday.
Each movie reflects what is going on during that particular time period.
Raiders and Last Crusade were there during the days of Hitler and his fanaticism with the occult and holy relics.
If they did a movie about the spear of destiny (as there was talk of about 13 years ago) it would have been in the 40’s around the time of the fall of Hitler and the Germans.
But we had already seen 2 movies with Germans.
So the KOTCS reflects what was going on in 1957.
Everyone suspected everyone else of being a communist.
UFO's were the hot topic of the day
So it makes sense that they chose Aliens.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Re: Indy 4: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
SPOILERS
The problem I had is the Indiana Jones Universe is a supernatural universe where it is shown that yes, there is without a doubt a Judeo-Christian God who has real power.
Having 5th dimensional alien/imps in this movie, while more fitting with the 50's decade, sorta doesn't feel like Indiana Jones.
