Notice the decent amount of articulation even during those times when articulation is not even dreamed of. Bendable knees and toes. Thighs can twist. Head can move up and down. Arms can rotate. Only the elbows are fixed. Otherwise, it will be almost complete. Notice also that the spike thing on the head is missing. He should have some sort of a single horn up the middle. (Picture 3)

Nice stash of weapons. These are original, comes with the box. (Picture 4)

I even made a very tiny Decepticon symbol on the chest. Not knowing back then that he is actually a Decepticon! (Picture 5)

These guys are so cute. I just got to post them. (Picture 6)

HEhe

I like yours color scheme better then the original.

Do they have this "stinger" thing like the toy?

Real cicadaes thankfully don't have stingers. They don't have mouths either.

I'm pretty fond of the deluxe insecticons. I had Ransack and Venom when I was a kid. Although I thought Ransack was cooler at first, in the long run I ended up liking Venom best. The one issue with the toys is that they're even more brickish in ways than other G1 figures. Ransack and Chopshop can't move their arms forward to point their guns at you. Venom can, but it's limited due to the fact his wings can block how far you can move hiss arms unless you put his wings in a weird position. Barrage is the only one I'm missing, so I can't comment on him.

Still, I thought they were cool because they actually looked like insects to me. The original insecticons because of the wheels, colours and stuff didn't look too much like insects to me at the time, although I can see it now.

I've got all four deluxe insecticons. When I was kid - I loved Chopshop because of his fierce alt mode. But Venom quickly became a favorite because of the reasons mentioned above. But Barrage also had articulation.

The first guy is a bit hefty, with lots of heavy kibbles. Otherwise, it looks awesome.

The 3rd guy has an awesome insect mode. But i can't say the same for the bot mode. The hips down to legs portion is just not right. Still looks like an insect standing upright. (Movie Scorponok?)

The 4th guy has almost the best bot mode, except, i can't understand his head.

Hmm.. :-? It turns out, the 2nd guy may have the best proportions of them all, in both insect and bot modes.
