Sorry, but I'm not going to sugar coat it.
Why were the only recongizable robots were Prime and Jazz?
Are you changing the ugly fat Starscream and roach teeth Megatron?
Again, Sorry, I never like the designs but your art is hard to do, good job.

Question one
Will the second movie have more G1 aspects or will it be more like the first?
Q2
Why does Starscream's face look like a bearded bald guy? Will it be changed? Will it remain? which brings me to Q3
Q3
Will the bots and cons have any diffrent designs? (face, body, legs, colors, etc.) If so which? And can I recomend Starscream he looks like Alpha Trion with chicken legs, Ratchet totaly unidentifiable until I saw the toy, Megatron hmm so many things wrong, His head was horrible design to me it looks like some sort of Helmet with a Medival joker twist also his mouth motion was horible it looked like he had a broken jaw, or he was chewing some tobbaco, also his teeth were so wrong.
I'm sorry if this offends you but this is the truth I am speaking whats on my mind.
These were good designs and are hard to follow alright
Q4
Can you Stop shaking the camera
Q5
Can you focus on the battles not the ground and the shaking of the camera
Q6
Can you make MORE WIDESHOTS I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH
Q7
Can you make it Less Human more Robot.
Q8
Can you Bring in Jetfire (AKA skyfire)

My question is: Would you see fit to introduce Jetfire into the next film, and if so, which version would you look for inspiration?

I'm pretty sure no.
this aint a G1 movie where everyone has bright colors. those colors woudn't look realistic.
and for the prime question-red looks bad on camera and is hard to look real in CG unless you can add a dash of another color(blue), and flames are a nod to Rodimus prime, if prime was to transform, he'd have way too much red on him

Of course it will be more like the first. If the movie suddenly became all g1 it'd be like watching Spiderman and in the middle of the movie, spidey has a red suit with little black lines(that red wouldnt look good on camera without some silver) and green goblin with purple.
he did the art. not the camera work.
I like the movie without wideshots, it brings you close to the action.
blocky robots won't be realistic. they're alien robots, they shouldn't look that blocky. so they have to look sorta organic.
starscreams face does suck though. it could've been better. I can tell what part of each face is supposed to be what(Bumblebee has horns, megatron has kinda a helmet, etc.)but I can barely tell that its Starscream unless I look at his body. I can tell that Blackout is supposed to be Soundwave if someone told me. I'm okay with every other design(even Megatron-his face looks satanic)
Satrscream needs to be wide like that. if he was skinny, he wouldn't be able to move his arms without wings getting in the way-unless the arms are on the wingishy parts. F-22 is huge, if it was tall and skinny, it'd be bigger than Optimus Prime.

My questions:
where did the idea for Starscream's, Ratchet's and Ironhide's face come from? I think they look the least like their G1 selves.
Is Bay easy to work with(not a total asshole)?
Ad a question to the person who started this thread:
When are you gonna ask him the questions?

Umm... people. Ben Procter just DESIGNED THE ROBOTS. he didn't actually DIRECT THE MOVIE.

Re: Interview questions for Ben Procter, lead robot illustrator
In the orginal series, there was an Autobot called Huffer who had an alternate mode similar to Optimus Prime, but obviously was a Minibot, so his modes were smaller. Sticking with the "No Mass-shifting" design ethic of the movie, if he was designed, would he be roughly the same size as Optimus due to their alternate modes, or would he be smaller.
I guess this question applies to the other Minibots of the orignal 1984 cast, seeing as Warpath, Cosmos (well, that's up for debate), Powerglide and Seaspray all have alternate modes bigger than the aforementioned Minibots.

Hey, Yes you did work your magic in creating these masterpiece designs for the movie.
My question is even though the special effects and everything looked amazing, why did it take Optimus Prime so long to transform and I already know that "Well, Optimus is the leader and the biggest out of the Autobots group, but if you look at Megatron he's "HUGE" but it only took him the time of about 3 seconds to tranform into the alien jet. The question is why so long?
Another question willthere be new species of Transformers in the next movie and will there be enhancements on the vehicles of the former Transformers?
Also, my last question is why wasn't Devastator in the form of the Constructicons because in the former animated series the Decepticon Bonecrusher was supposed to be one of the six Constructicons in which formed Devastator in which in the movie was a super-advanced tank.

The labelling of the tank as "Devastator" was an error.
It was supposed to be called "Brawl".
And this isn't G1.
Bonecrusher doesn't have to be a constructicon.

Considering the complex nature of the designs, how did you approach creating them? Did you start with a blank slate and added details as you went along, or did you have a clear vision of how they would look?

Re: Interview questions for Ben Procter, lead robot illustrator
did anybody who really really liked Transformers and grew up with them as a big part of their life work on the designs?
How much freedom did you have to make the designs what you liked vs what other people (ie advertising, hollywood types who "know young people are X-treme") wanted you to do?
did you ever look at the old robots and say "my designs should look a lot like those, much like the new mustang looks the old mustang and the new beetle looks like the old beetle
did you read the original (not Bays) character background for any characters?
I am not trying to be rude, I am serious about these questions.
