I wish this idea the best of luck. Getting to know your fellow collector...

I was just kidding about being # 42. I'd love to be interviewed at some point, at any time. I'd be the perfect volunteer for such a thing.

There are two ways this can be done...
A live interview via AIM or other messenger
or
a ready list of questions send to the respondant
The first option allows for more back and forth, but requires timing and a good deal of time to actually do.
The second allows for more detailed responses, is flexible, but may not get more than the initial answer.
Thoughts anyone?
I suppose it could just be a case by case thing...

I think it really depends on who you are interviewing and what their preference is... I personally would opt to be sent questions so I could send back a completed interview along with pics all at once..

I think you should give them a choice
I wouldnt mind being interviewed, if you have a list
But don't ask me for a long time, practicing my picture taking

I wouldnt mind being interviewed, if you have a list

Either way would work.

Mkall's were boring! Mine were so much more fun!
And ahhh....i'll volunteer if you want.
Only downside is I wouldn't have many pics of my collection as due to a lack of space most of them are boxed up.
Except for the kitbashes, they get to stay on display.
Oooo! Army of Stalker's!
I'd actually like to see one of your Punch/Counterpunch interviews done somewhere along the line, they are always a good read.
Some interviews with collectors in various European/African countries would be nice, get some different perspective from collectors who cannot just walk into a Walmart/Target to get their figures.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

as an Asian collector (are there many of us here guys? REPRESENT!) i'd love to share my thoughts on TF collecting courtesy of CP. but i'm afraid my collection's not gonna be on par with most of you guys here. maybe on a later date, i'll pass for now.
not to Punch though. he looks too shady a character for me. LOL.

AIM or MSN. It makes for a more flexible interviewing process. Filling out a survey would only result in redundant on incomplete answers in the long run.

Agreed, but this would have to be scheduled since most people have work/school or can't be on MSN all day at work. Not a huge deal but definitely a consideration.

I demand that my interview be over Yahoo! Messenger. Also, I hope these interviews will be in-depth, no just like ten measly questions. Now I can't wait to be interviewed.

Good thing too, because you're set up to be our second guest in this ongoing series!
Let's get some questions going for Zemper folks!

I can't ever think of questions I'd like to hear the answers to. Somebody start thinking. I obviously can't. Hey, I actually think this is a cool idea. I would like to nominate Chosen. I'd like to participate myself but I've got no camera.

Fender Bender:
Why have you started collecting?
Zemper:
Do you look down on other collectors that don't have what you have but want it?
OK, that would be it.
Hem when would you like to interview me CP?

All in good time.
I am totally stoked to see so many people open and willing to participate.
Everyone will get the call sooner or later. I have a plan.

It would be fun to turn one of these around per week.

Every time you get a 'plan', a small country ends up wiped off the map and teachers have to rewrite the history books.

Damn commies!

Well, whenever my turn comes around, I hope it's AFTER I've received my ML Soundwave & Encore figures which I have paid for but not yet received.

A question for an interview (any/all/whatever): Was there ever a time when your collection/collecting took precedence over something that should've been higher priority, for example, a significant other?

Question for both Fender and Zemper:
Do you ever play house or roleplay your transformers with other toylines such as Gundam, G.I. Joe, legos ect.?
How do you act when you go through the Transformers in the toy section when there's kids or parents around?
Ever been watched by the store security/Loss prevention by walking in the store at a fast speed to get to the TF section and then walk out empty handed cause they had nothing?
