Independance Day is a great film.
Pearl Harbour was dross of the highest order. The attack took longer on film than it did in reality. And the plot was downright immoral.
But most of his films are great.
It could have been some really bad or arty idiot who did Transformers. Then it really would suck.
I nearly did not watch Transformers 1 because that loser Spielberg was involved.
I hate Stephen Spielberg. He is overrated garbage like George Lucas.
Just hope the sentimental loon bucket did not get his claws in further into T2.
Are you serious Spielberg invented the Summer Blockbuster. And While I agree with you on the Lucas spot, Micheal Bay has less talent then Spielberg's Gym shorts. You can see At least 3 different draws Bay pulls from Spielberg in Transformers alone, from ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, to Jurassic Park. Do you know how many Academy Awards this man and his movies have Shindler's List, Munich, Saving Private Ryan, are you serious bub.

I have no idea if he agrees or disagrees with me. He is the one NOT staying on topic. You Shadowman disagree about Bay and that is fine, but I have no clue how Robinson feels about Mike Bay, I just know how he feels about ME Talking about Bay, not how he actually feels about bay.
Look two posts above yours.Robinson wrote:And Coolyfelt, I am neither a hater of Bay or a lover. You know what I am? Someone who appreciates a movie for what it is. A fun popcorn flick that lets me escape the real world for a couple hours and not have to think about anything else.
I know I am in a minority on this site as I dont hold transformers to such high acclaim and high regard that the holy g1 is untouchable and anyone who changes anything is performing sacrilage. Like someone else said its a 22 minute commercial to sell toys which many of us have been suckered into over the last 25 years.
That sounds an awful lot like an opinion to me.Coolyfett wrote:In 1988 or 1989 Transformers as a brand was sick, not dead but very ill, Bay gave the brand a steroid, but people act like he cured the illness, steroids are bad.
Wrong. For many illnesses, doctors will prescribe steroids. Check your facts.

Michael Bay, by that standard, IS a horrible director. He has never yet made a movie I have been able to enjoy, and I have long since given up hope that he ever will.

I once saw someone say that he couldn't find a movie entertaining unless his brain was engaged by the movie. That's a sentiment I agree with. If I have to shut my brain down to enjoy something, I can't enjoy it. The movie doesn't have to be enlightening, or anything like that, it just has to have a fair bit more going for it than explosions and cool special effects.

And yet Robinson's post is listed BEFORE yours.Coolyfett wrote:All Steroids are not the same.
I know. I just pointed that out. The type you're referring to is often described as "performance enhancing drugs" which, now that I think about it, is oddly positive.Coolyfett wrote:Dude you are just mad because I don't think Mike Bay does good TF flicks. I'm only irritated that you fail to see any sort of logic or reason when you deride Michael Bay.SamYarbrough77 wrote:fascinating... But end the end (pun intended) Bay's films are like empty orgasms...
Wow, that is possibly the worst analogy I've heard all week.

Yeah that makes sense.
