Independance Day is a great film.

Pearl Harbour was dross of the highest order. The attack took longer on film than it did in reality. And the plot was downright immoral.

But most of his films are great.

It could have been some really bad or arty idiot who did Transformers. Then it really would suck.

I nearly did not watch Transformers 1 because that loser Spielberg was involved.
I hate Stephen Spielberg. He is overrated garbage like George Lucas.

Just hope the sentimental loon bucket did not get his claws in further into T2.

Are you serious Spielberg invented the Summer Blockbuster. And While I agree with you on the Lucas spot, Micheal Bay has less talent then Spielberg's Gym shorts. You can see At least 3 different draws Bay pulls from Spielberg in Transformers alone, from ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, to Jurassic Park. Do you know how many Academy Awards this man and his movies have Shindler's List, Munich, Saving Private Ryan, are you serious bub.

Ok I admit I thinking of the bad ones like ET.
Some of Spielbergs films are good.
Jurassic Park series, Raiders films, yeah they are good.
But his recent stuff and the wretched ET, is not.
Ai is a grim grim film.
Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan, Munich, so not my kind of film.
And I could not care less how many awards a person has won. I go on if they are any good and if I like them and their work. Awards are mostly rigged and bribed anyway.

What Transformer are you? (Movie)
Starscream

You are in second of command of the Decepticons. You live for the day to be the leader. You hate who's in charge and waits for the moment to "accidentally" slip a jagged edge of steel in his chest. Unfortunately, the other Decepticons question your leader abilities. You are strong and confident in yourself, but you are a coward when it comes to being out numbered or intimidated.

Look two posts above yours.

Robinson wrote:And Coolyfelt, I am neither a hater of Bay or a lover. You know what I am? Someone who appreciates a movie for what it is. A fun popcorn flick that lets me escape the real world for a couple hours and not have to think about anything else.

I know I am in a minority on this site as I dont hold transformers to such high acclaim and high regard that the holy g1 is untouchable and anyone who changes anything is performing sacrilage. Like someone else said its a 22 minute commercial to sell toys which many of us have been suckered into over the last 25 years.

That sounds an awful lot like an opinion to me.

Wrong. For many illnesses, doctors will prescribe steroids. Check your facts.

Those post came after the fact of responding to you, not prior. All Steroids are not the same. Dude you are just mad because I don't think Mike Bay does good TF flicks. That how I feel man, you won't and CAN'T change that. Peace

Michael Bay, by that standard, IS a horrible director. He has never yet made a movie I have been able to enjoy, and I have long since given up hope that he ever will.

Pearl Harbor was a good flick, but I only seen it once. The Bad Boys movies were good, they had 2 funny actors in them, and actually made sense. I have not seen The Rock or the space ship movie with Ben Afleck, but he does not do TF flicks properly. Like the guy that did the Batman flicks with Val Kilmer and George Clooney....watching these movies tells me that TF was not meant for live action or only for animation. You need someone who did Star Trek, LOTR or Star Wars, these movies need that type of backbone. I never even heard of Bay til these new TF flicks came. Sci fi is not his thing, Cops & Robbers is.

I once saw someone say that he couldn't find a movie entertaining unless his brain was engaged by the movie. That's a sentiment I agree with. If I have to shut my brain down to enjoy something, I can't enjoy it. The movie doesn't have to be enlightening, or anything like that, it just has to have a fair bit more going for it than explosions and cool special effects.

If you can't turn your brain off, then the action genre is not for you. I'm going to go watch Shoot 'Em Up now.

He's never made a movie you enjoy. Keep in mind, your opinion does not change the face of someone's career. Just because you don't enjoy it, doesn't mean he's terrible, just that Michael Bay's style isn't for you.

Only yours. Action flicks should not require thought; Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Shoot 'Em Up, Crank, Robocop, Predator, Rambo, Point Break, etc. They're not smart, nor do they pretend to be, they're just big, dumb, flashy fun. The way the Action Genre should be.

What does it feel like to be out of touch with reality? (See that is me coming at you)

There is not a team, but I am speaking in general terms when i say we. You see the person that disagrees with you all of a sudden has no creditability, but the person that said robocop was good is a "very credible poster"

So what I said holds true. What you fail to realize is that by posting on an open forum you leave yourself open to opinions other than yours, but just as you say we cant force our opinions on you, you cannot either. You resurrected a 2 year old thread just to talk about how much of a hack Bay is over a movie that has not been seen yet. And now that some people are going against you opinion then we are attacking and flaiming you. There have been a few who agree with your feelings on Bay and that is perfectly fine, but you seem to like being a target or else you would not say things in the manner that you are.
