Is it worth getting the G1 seekers if you already have the Classics ones?

Oviously, let's assume you're like me, and went to BotCon to get the exclusive Games of Deception set. And like me, you've never actually owed the G1 Seekers. Now, one could say that the Classics molds are far superior in articulation and sculpt. But another could say, "Come on! It's GEE WUN, baby!" So in your opinion, is it still worth it collecting all of the G1 seeker molds?

Oh yeah, for sure, especially for nostalgia's sake, even if you didn't own the old ones. I plan on eventually owning the 3 main G1 seekers, I've only got Thundercracker, plus Starscream on preorder. Eventually I'll get around to finding TRU Reissue Skywarp.
Classics are another story, since I was not lucky nor wealthy enough to grab the exclusives.

If you have the Classics and have no attachment to the G1 toys, don't bother.
Before I get bashed to Hell, I am G1. Born in 1980, I owned more TFs than I knew people as a kid. Never gave the toys up, just stop watching the newer shows. I own the original Seekers and I bought the TRU reissues to fill in missing parts (and I prefer the larger Dremwave arm cannons) and I have the nonBotcon jets. This isn't a matter of senimentality, it's a matter of technology. The Classics are in every way better then the G1 jets. Better articulation, sturder transformating, better looking. More G1 than G1. The only problem I have is the price so I'm picking up the other Botcon exclusives first.
Basically, which one looks better on the shelf? Me? I'm gonna say both. I'm a completist.

Every time I see a Classics Thundercracker, my heart dies a little more. He's so cool, but I will never be able to own him.

All depends on your personal preference I guess. For me, I like the style and scale of the G1 seekers in jet mode over Classics. However, the Classics are by far superior in robot mode. If I were going to display them flying it'd be G1, in a big robot battle it'd Classics

If you aren't that attached to the 80's then you can skip them. But The seekers are an important part in most of our childhoods.
Me for example, even though I have Classics Skywarp, there's nothing like owning that piece of your childhood. so i have the G1 re-issue Thundercracker. And am hoping for an Encore release of Skywarp. (Never been much into Starscream, the repaint seekers are my cup of tee though)
Its all about the nostalgia.
Of course if the nostalgia factor is not there for you, you can probably pass on the G1 figures. Since they are not articulated, and are not as close of a depiction of the cartoon character as the Classics.

I have to agree, they are well worth it as the originals. The CLASSICS are awesome, but I still really like my G1 seekers an awful lot.

I must agree with some folks and have to say having both is quite worth it. Being that I was born 1973 the Transformers came and went at the height of my toy playing childhood. I agree that the Classics are far superior to the G1 jets but the nostalgia is something the Classics just don't completely satisfy. Although G1 Ramjet and G1 Thrust are becoming quite a beeotch for me to acquire. Good condition ones go for more than I can afford on Ebay. SO my Classic seekers are complete but my G1 seekers are short by two. It kind of sucks.

Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!

I wouldn't. I own G2 Screamer and Ramjet, and while they look is good, the rest is crap. The articulation and overall quality of the figure is so bad that I don't see how anyone could like them. The Classics, however, take what was good about the GeeWun Seekers and add modern articulation, detailing, and quality that is far superior to any GeeWun/G2 figure.

Sacrilage to even suggest not getting the original. To quote Optimal Optimus from BW: "Die-cast construction. It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Except G1/G2 seekers can raise their arms with their null rays on the upper arm pointing forward to shoot, and unfortunately with all the vaunted poseability CLASSICs Starscream does not do this, unless you swing his wing out of the way in a very odd look.
They are both good quality, but both have flaws. G1 has nostalgia, diecast, more accessories, stickers, height and CLASSICS has bending knees, and elbows.
Whatever floats your boat basically. G1 is expensive, CLASSICs depending on who, can also be expensive.
That's why I recommend both, but finances may dictate that you cannot get both, than go with what you got.

Funny enough, Robot Masters have lost a step in my mind. I used to love them but Classics sunk them. Starscream was so cool I tracked down Cracker & Warp for nearly $100. Hell, I hoped the MP would be an upscaled, more detailed version. Classics are just better.
So far that's the only valid point I've ever heard against the Classics that wasn't $$. So I chalk it up to people looking for stuff to bitch about. Not you in particular TT but in general.
I only hope that somewhere down the line was get a Classics Starscreams Ghost. More people want that then Mirage the foggy Smurf.

If mirage would have been done in clear as opposed to the almost opaque blue, then i personally would have preferred it over a ghost starscream...unfortunately that was not the case.(ok, fortunately for my wallet.)

I was absolutely expecting a ghost SS for the attendee figure too. I'm OK with Mirage, but my top 3 choices would have been a ghost SS, CLEAR Mirage or Sunstorm.
I doubt any of those would be huge sellers off the shelf, but I hope Hasbro considers doing something with those ideas, even if it is a limited edition exclusive run.

I love the gen 1 seekers, real plane mode, an elegant transformation (albeit not fully contained)and a beautiful (albeit static) robo mode. The classic seekers are equally as elegant with added posability. yes, id recommend both gen 1 and the classics toys. At the end of the day you have to decide 'do i like that toy?".

BOTH.
They are both easily worth owning. I'm doing my best to get them all too.
