Is this the end of Alternators & Classics?
Hi - I'm new here, so I am sorry if this has been discussed before... but:
1. Are #24 Rumble & #26 Ravage the last of the Alternators?
2. Who is Alternators #25? Nemessis Prime? Or a repack (rumored Mustang) or a new design ala rumored Megatron/Cadillac?
3. Is the Classics line done now? Or are we gonna see any more after this Cliffjumper / Ramjet? Will there be a Cosmos? Or a Thundercracker repaint?
I still have all my old G1 Transformers from my youth. The Alternators line along with the Commemorative Reissues sparked my interest in TFs again BIGTIME as I think almost all of them are badass! Then the Classics line came out and I fell in love with those too.
It would really SUCK if these 2 lines ended with the new movie stuff. I am not a fan of the movie designs enough to justify collecting another line (I collect Star Wars & LotR too - space is getting limited, LOL).
Anyone have any info they can share? Much thanks in advance!

I hope so too I know it was a filler line, but there is only so much you can do with a movie! So once the movie toys are done they might start it again.
I also know Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust are all club exclusives. I didn't have much of a chance to enjoy the Alternators line because it's just not in my price range...which sucks. But in the Heroes line I'll be getting a lot of scouts and deluxes.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

as much as I hope they continue classics I kinda have a sneaking sucpicion that after the movie we'll be moved into the Heroes line and that will run until we see TF2 and we've already seen the writing on the walls with that one.
I really hope I'm wrong.

Classics are basically done.
The movie and related stuff is going to dominate for a while to come.
Alts? best look to the Japanese market. I get the feeling we're just going to be getting rehashes from them for a while (and nothing else).

If the sales support the call, both lines will survive. Simple as that.
I feel that the alts have shown some potential with the release of Rumble and Ravage, both figures are pretty much limited to being those characters [and the unavoidable Frenzy repaint]. This tends to suggest that Hasbro can make a figure that they don't anticipate rereleasing in at least three obscure repaints.
Even smarter, they released the figures as Wal-Mart exclusives which will drive sales for diehard fans and ebay scalpers.

I hope this isn't the end of the Alternators line. I know some people don't seem to like Rumble or Ravage but I just got these two and I must say they are quite innovative. I'm hoping we get to see much more before they retire these.

I doubt it's the end of the Alternators line. There'll be back by Christmas.
Classics on the other hand, I'm not sure. A lot of people claim that it's done and dusted. But we haven't seen the car-robot wave yet. Hasbro has said they might do Cosmos, Jazz, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.
After that, I don't know...

I just noticed this in the latest Previews. In the listing for ToyFare Magazine #120, it reads:
"Transformers Classics Photo Guide
The Transformers Classics line from Hasbro is heating up the shelves with classically styled renditions of the Generation 1 Transformers we know and love! We'll run down all of the figures that are out so far-as well as what's on the way-with photos for them all! Plus: a photo guide to the brand-new movie line, a sneak peek at the film, a complete Transformers price guide and more great Transformers features! A Transformers movie toy will be on the cover of this issue."
I can only wonder what this means at this point since I'm pretty sure we would have heard something from Hasbro by now. I wonder if it just means the BotCon exclusives. I can't wait for June to find out!

Although, I wonder if the Titanium Cosmos that has been rumored may be the classics design in the titanium line. I'd be happy to just get them, although the extra 6 or 7 bucks for Classics deluxe vs Titanium sucks.

You know, this is a pretty good point. Perhaps the classics will continue, but as Titaniums rather than a seperate "Classic" line. In one way, a G1 homage including die cast parts. In another way, the Titanium line hasn't had the best reputation for quality builds. Perhaps that is changing. (I need an Ultra Magnus to see for myself!!)

My brain surprises me when it spits out good ideas like this, instead of the usual gutter material.
Of course, the Botcon Classics Thundercracker, Thrust and Dirge that "will never be released like this in retail" could come out as titaniums as well, but that is really wishfull thinking.

Well, that's some good news blurb!! I didn't think that they were going to discontinue the line, but then again, there's no info that they were going to continue it either. Awesome!!

I thought the Binaltech market dried up since Tomy took over. With the exception of BT Nemisis Convoy in Alternator packaging, nothing new has come from Takara in the way of Binal in a while.
I haven't even seen anyhing new on the Kiss Players version either since Hot Rod and Autolooper. I also haven't seen anything new out of BTA but from what I understand, it wasn't very popular.
I'd love to see someone continue this line though whether it is Hasbro or Takara. I think there is so much more they could do and they definitely need more Decepticons. We do at least have an E-Hobby clear version of Mirage to look forward to but that's about it for now.
It looks like Mattel is trying to fill the gap that Hasbro is going to leave behind. While it's not even in the same league as Binal/Alts, Mattel has developed the Hot Wheels Modifighters and they are officially licensed cars. They look stubby and targeted at a younger age group, and the bots don't look very good. I'd say to Hasbro that when a rival company starts copying the idea, it's apparent that there is still a market for it.

More ****ing exclusives? This is bullshit! That's not damn fair to us who live overseas! I'm getting sick and freakin' tired of Hasbro thinking that the US is the only country out there. Not all of us foreigners can afford to sign up for the Collectors Club, and it's not fair if we wanna complete our collection!

Is this the end of Alternators & Classics?
hehe Alternators was sweet, and seeing how popular it was, i'd say they might continue it. as for Classics, i'd say they'll be back too.
also, what are the designated numbers for rumble, ravage, and nemesis prime?
