Naturally, it's turning into this already. As it typically does when some high-powered board member plays the role of defender.

If you must know what the secret of the movie is, there was another robot film released in 2004 with the same problem.

To me Shia Lebouf isn't a problem

Haha...I'm not quite sure that's the problem he's talking about. But hey, I could be wrong, haha. I actually like Shia's part, based on what we've seen. His reaction to Bumblebee being electrocuted is really good.

Again, that's not it.

You want to know? Alright. It's PRODUCT PLACEMENT.

Transformers is filled with shitloads of ads, and it makes me sick. There's a scene where the Allspark sends out a pulse of energy which transforms various machines in the vicinity. Among them:

An Xbox 360
An Ipod
A Scion car
An HP camera
And the entire contents of a Target (with a nice zoom up on the logo)

Why do you think the Autobots are all GM cars, and the Decepticons are all Ford vehicles (except Megatron)?

Bumblebee cannot speak, so he speaks with radio advetisements. One of the first things he says is a Yahoo ad, complete with the "YahoooOOOOoooo!" Then he does a Verizon Wireless "Can you hear me now?" bit.

On top of it, Sector Seven uses Macintosh computers exclusively.

It's sickening. I'm leaving before I get sued.

shia isnt a problem at all. i acutally like him as an actor, bit maybe thats cuz i watched even stevens..anyways, i dont think they are brother either. i know they co-ruled cybertron, and then megatron wants the allspark soo. i doubt they are actually brothers.

Yeah we did for the most part, oh and btw a truckload of furbys gets blown up. Incase you havnet noticed this movie is one big prduct placement, it is all to sell some toys. Also the only car decepticon is Barricade and mustangs are not uncommon as cop cars.

Ford doesnt make tanks, helicopter, boomboxes.

After The Island, I was pretty sure this was a given. I, Robot was a little too blatant with its product placement but it wasn't anywhere near as "you just spent 7 dollars on a movie ticket now bend over and get reamed with ads" as The Island was.

Well, there are tons of movies out there full of product placement, and like someone said, "A world without advertisements isn't realistic". I can see how this might be going overboard, but when it all comes down to it, I'm still going to see it on 7.4.7.

Ford DOES makes tanks and helicopters. They also make F22 Raptors. Ford makes ALL American military vehicles apart from Jeeps and Hummers.

Also, there is no Furby truck that I've seen.

Selling toys isn't the priority, I'm sure. These product features were written into the script long before it was bought, and, as the writers stated on their video, they don't get a single dime from toy sales. THEY DO benefit from product placement, however. The amount of logo zooms makes me vomit.

There was even a scene originally where the Ipod turns into a robot and Sam says, "Wow, that thing is amazing!"

"Well," replies a store clerk, "it IS an Ipod!"

And they laugh.

Starscream
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is the prime contractor and is responsible for the majority of the airframe, weapon systems and final assembly of the F-22. Along with Lockheed Martin, partner Boeing Integrated Defense Systems provides the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and 100% of the pilot and maintenance training systems.

Blackout
The Sikorsky HH-53 "Super Jolly Green Giant" is a USAF version of the CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter for long-range combat search and rescue (CSAR) helicopters. It was developed to replace the HH-3 "Jolly Green Giant"". The HH-53s were later upgraded as MH-53 Pave Low series.

Brawl
The M1 Abrams was designed by Chrysler Defense (in 1979, General Dynamics Land Systems Division purchased Chrysler Defense Division) and is currently produced by General Dynamics Corporation

So nope no fords there, try again.

Hasbro and dreamworks are sharing profits, so no the writers don't get the money, but the production companies do.

I guess you're right about that. I didn't research the military vehicles, I'm simply stating what my producer told me.

In the production I'm working on we were encouraged to sneak subliminal Target logos in various places. They tried to bribe us into doing it.

We didn't budge.

The simple fact remains, this movie is brimming with ads. I hesitate to even call it "product placement." It's more like "violating anal product insertion."

i will be the first to give that poster props for having the balls to come out and tell the doubters exactly what was on his mind and what he was talking about....*golf claps*

second prime and megs are brothers this hasnt been disputed since the script first leaked.. i'd throw a spoiler up about brothers and how the film ends, but i dont feel like typing it since its common knowledge...poof

The ending has nothing to do with Prime and Megatron being brothers. Although it is directly stated that they are.

the product placement seriously isnt a big deal...its not like optimus is going to be tired from fighting megatron and reaches into a pepsi truck..grabs one..drinks it..sighs in relif..and then is super powerful again...

also scion is part of toyota...if the allspark brought a scion to life it would be awesome....but id expect a GM...

also..that scene is whats going to allow the 2nd instalment of the movies to gain new members...that "scion" or whatever (if true) will mostl likely become a new autobot in TF2

just a guess

there is a target in the script, don't mean your not who you claim to be, but naturally I'll take it with a rather large grain of salt.

The Scion is not a character. It doesn't come to life, per say. Rather, PARTS of it transform (which doesn't really make sense) like the steering wheel which dislodges and attacks someone like a face-hugger.

Also the rims (which aren't even machines) turn into robots. They have a big BBS logo on them. I vomited.
