Jin's TF Thread 08.08.07 ----BLACKOUT!--- pg.3

Postby Jin Saotome » Wed Jul 11, 2007 4:11 pm

Ok, I'm going to make this a solid thread instead of making a new one for each figure, since I can alter the title when needed. Here comes all my Movie figure repaints/mods! Click on the link below the image to see the character's main page with all the images.

I still can't get over how good wreckage looks. I'm going to have to mess around with that clear tint. And thanks for the mod suggestions (brawl and wreckage are the only two movie figures I have so far).

so seeing this pic that explains where bumblebee's battle mask comes from, is anyone (jin I'm looking at you) brave enough to try to make it sliding a reality?

dry brushing is actually easy.. just takes some practice... lay down the dark color. and dry brush the others over...

Yes, he's finished! He took almost two days of work too, whew. Thanks for the Allspark members for helping me find good shots of his face! I made the claw-fingers to kinda look like eagle talons, cause you know, he can fly.

Thanks so much for the replys everyone, they're much appreciated!

Jimsloth, you read my mind. I've ordered two of the Bumblebee 08's and will try the sliding mask first. If that doesn't work because it's too small or the head isn't detailed enough, I'll do an alternate head with clear lenses.

DendrakeDarkenz, metallics are usually pretty simple. Two good ways to do them are: The drybrush way as mentioned above requires black or dark grey base coat, then you lightly 'dust' the metallic overtop. That's what I did for Jazz's grill and inner black sections. The other way is to lay down the metallic color first, then do a black wash over it, and lightly drybrush over that again. This is what you'd do for a light-colored figure that you didn't want to put black on. After that you can mix silver in with grey, brown, and drybrush that on for the worn edges. So many ways you can experiment with that!

I'm going to do a movie Shockwave after this, using a Swindle probably, hehe.

yea, sorry, but it doesnt give away what happens, or how it happens, nor does it spesify where the figure has been modded, still, a very cool feature for the figure jin

Wow, starscream looks really nice. The claws match the bot really well too. Almost looks like they could fold up and slide into the centre of the launchers with some modding. Your paint job also helps slim down his undercarriage a bit.

It's movie Sunstorm!

Omega, I's say they're the upper set of the movie version claws, as the bottom set has a different design, and the ML/Origins has ridges on the inside of the claws.

Yep, it's the Spiderman2 Doc Ock arms, lower-larger set actually with the tips shaved. The upper set would be great for Jazz-hands tho, as they're smaller and pointier.

That doesn't make sense, movie shockwave is a helicopter,i'm not saying it's a bad idea,in fact: i can't wait to see it,but what i would do is a headswap and repaint between swindle/dreadwing and blackout.

don't forget he is a triple changer (in Transformers The Movie The Game, what a dumb title). He's also a giant stationary cannon. Your choice of bots is about the same as I'd use though. Maybe figure out a way to use the helicopter blades on the bottom as the stabilizers for the cannon mode.
