It wasnt morning and then nighttime as you say, it was morning when he got interogated by cops, and then the hacking scene and a qatar scene then its sam again when bb pulls up and his friend is washing the dog. He's getting a glass of milk so I could see how it looked like morning, but it wasnt.

The only part of the movie where there was what I felt unnecessary product placement was the 2 second shot of the Panasonic 2 GB flash card. For god sakes, any longer and she could've waved her hand over it like one of Barker's Babes while Rod Roddy did a description. The Ebay/Mountain Dew/Nokia stuff didn't bother me as much.

Some more subtle or more blatant than others, but it's there. We also had the military, GM cars, Mac Truck, Los Angeles, and so on.

All that stuff was just background filler. The main characters and story were still the focus.

Optimus was a Peterbuilt 379.

hey, does anyone remember the product placement in the movie "Torque"? like where the two girls are fighting on their bikes, and one goes to one end where a pepsi bilboard is, and the other heads to a Coca-cola sign? We tall did

I work 10:30 till 6:30 in the morning when I go to sleep and wake up in the afternoon, I say good morning. I use it in reference to when I wake up, not the actual time of day.

And Bay Said He Was Not Going To make It Some Big Advertisement. For Shame....

Man I totally agree. But all of that doesn't even come close to the BLATENT advertising that Hasbro did throughout the whole movie. You'd almost think the movie WAS about Transformers or something, gosh! Wait a minute...

Sorry couldn't resist :P ...

Most movies have product placement one way or another. Don't let it get to you.

I think the problem isn't that there was too much Product placement, it's the fact that it was obvious. No subtly at all.

Product placement doesn't bother me too much at all, unless it doesn't fit in with what's happening. I mean, in life, you're going to see logos, so seeing them in films doesn't phase me too much. In life, you're going to talk about products, so this doesn't phase me too much, unless as I said, it doesn't fit and is too blatent. I think Transformers did just fine, the only time I felt it was out of place was when Simmons (?) said something about Nokia. That seemed forced, but beyond that, none of the product placement broke... umm... immersion I guess.

And if that doesn't happen, I really have to ask. Why care?

The movie had all these giant robots in it. Anyone else notice that?

Oh, man yes!

Reminds me of this cartoon series they made about 23 years ago that was actually based on a toyline...

Wait. What?

Glad to be of service!

*edit...

I was going to go for a Johnny Olson description, but then I'd be showing my age.

The kids who grew up with Transformers, which was a giant toy-commercial, are now - 20 years later - going to see Transformers the movie, which is a giant car-commercial (with other, smaller advertissements thrown in there)

Still though, you can't expect a movie this expensive to be free of product placement, it is what helps pay for movies...

Kenworth

no.

Peterbuilt 379.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_Prime#2007_Transformers_film

look at the part on the side at the section about the new movie. not to mention. the grille design is different on a Kenworth W900L compared to a Peterbuilt 379. kenworths have a much narrower nose/grille than the peterbuilt
