KARR wasn't evil. He was just naive, programmed for self preservation. People just mistake him for evil because he was found by thugs that corrupted him for evil. And in the second one, he wasn't evil per se, he just wanted revenge.

They found a semi-clever way of dancing around the cliche element of it with the self-preservation angle and the corruption thing, I grant you, but what remains is that he's in opposition of the good guys, and he looks just like one of them. Typically, that's what the evil-twin stereotype is, regardless of the setup.

Sounds to me like a golden opportunity to relaunch the Pontiac Firebird on the heels of a successful Camaro relaunch... obviously production can't begin until Pontiac has working concepts, but it would be sweet...

I have no idea who'd make a good bandit for the remake though. I mean Burt's shoes are really, really hard to fill.

Perhaps Ryan Reynolds...he does the dramatic and the comedic quite well.

But no one (and I mean no one) can replace Gleason. It's impossible. Emulate, maybe. Replace, no.

John Goodman might do fine, but that's pushing it.

Well if you want to boil it down to it's basic level, yes. KARR was the evil twin of KITT. Though he's more like an evil older brother since he came well before KITT.

I was just going deeper into his personality for a richer story.
