Leader class Optimus Prime appreciation thread

Discuss how AWESOME this figure is here and share how much you love it!

I just received mine in the mail today, a friend of mine bought it for me as payment for an art commission.

I can only say that this is an AMAZING figure! I dont think i have been this impressed by a toy ever! Not even my 20th anni Prime impressed me as much as this thing does and i LOVE my 2oth anni Prime! (with added long die-cast smokestacks. ;) ) Sure he is awesome, but Leader Class Prime is just so chock full of detail, and amazing poseability that he does nothing but make me smile every time i look at him!

I spent a good half hour transforming him the first time around into his alt mode. It was a fun transformation and i didnt find it frustrating even if i did get stuck a few times. Transforming him back into robot mode was much simpler.

His feet cover such a wide surface area which makes the figure very sturdy. I have him standing on my wobbly metal computer desk which shakes while i type and usually id be afraid of any other figure falling over but this guy just stands his ground like he is welded to the metal!

I tell ya i love this toy so much it has to be one of my new favourties, and thanks to it i now want a Leader Class Megs (even though the colors suck and i had no prior intentions of buying one because of that) just to stand proudly next to Prime as i think that would be an awesome sight.

I just cant get over how detailed these guys are! It is safe to say that Leader Class Optimus Prime has made me feel like a little kid again! (hence why i probably sound a little too excited as i type this. But if a toy can do that to a depressed and cynical 22 year old man, then it obviously is doing something right!)

What do you other proud owners think of this toy?

Very cool, even if not very acurat, but could use a bit of a movable waist. and more legarticulation.
But nothing the less a very cool TF!

Yeah i was surprised he didnt have that, but then i put him in such an awesome pose, which ive never been able to pull off before with other figures without them falling over i realized i didnt care about the lack of articulation in the waist! lol

How is he not accurate though? I think he looks darn spiffy.

Look at his arms and then at those of the actual render, then look at his legs and the legs of the actual render.
Plus his fat back what let you lie him down probebly.

All I can say is that this Optimus Prime figures is about one of the best Transformers figures ever made if not THE best figure.
Nothing but praise for the movie figures anyway!

To add to everything else, just the weight and heft of the toy itself. If only Leader Megatron had the same level of detail, and Brawl later as well.

I loved mine from the day I bought it! I know there are few things that aren't identical to the movie - but that's to be expected.

The only thing I don't like is that I love it so much I might have to drop the $$$$$ to get the repaint....

The only TF in my collection I like more than Leader Prime is Cybertron Primus. So to be second only to the TF God himself is a truly remarkable feat.
His transformation is brilliantly complex without being frustrating and both modes are equally majestic and powerful looking. His automorph features work great and the lights and sounds are icing on the cake.
These truly are 55 euros ($ 66,68) well spent. Every TF collector should have one, even if they already own FAB or Voyager class Movie Prime.

love him. worth every penny i spent on him.
now i'm planning on making him better. i repainted parts of him to get a more distressed metal look and switched his knees around so his legs can bend to about 90 degrees. now i just need to make his hands and neck balljointed.

Count me in, I'm in love with this figure. I've got him posed with his right leg forward, left back, with his gun arm up and the other one at his side. Looks just great. Super chunky, and so much fun to transform. Possibly my favourite movie toy, although Voyager Ratchet would give him a run for his money.

I'm still on the fence with this figure, but maybe you folks that dig it can help sway my decision. I'm mostly concerned that I'll hate his robot mode since he looks so freaking chunky in the photo gallery pics. That leg kibble on the back of his legs doesn't look all that aesthetically pleasing either. But maybe he makes up for those downfalls with other coolsome stuff?

I cant wait to see that! Id like to get a megs and repaint him to look movie accurate, as well as get a second movie prime to add chrome to, or just to keep MISB.

Dude, i felt the same way, trust me the photos do not do this thing justice! Once you see him with your own eyes, and from the right angles he doesnt look that clunky, but he looks big and mighty.

There are some clunky parts to him, but they dont look bad and IMO, pay homage to the original G1 designs. i.e. boxy. So this figure is a good mix of old and new.
