No, its just 10 bucks to get in. Its 300 bucks for the package including admission, awards dinner, dealer room, the exc. set, atendee figure, etc.

Hey, does the blue one in that pic have the "TILL ALL ARE ONE" sticker on it like the Omega Prime one did?

Yes the blue one reads the garbled "Til All Are One" near the bottom.

Motto: "Today is a good day to die......but the day is not yet over!"
I cant speek about this peace but I have been buying all my Japan import Transformers from this seller for at least 7 years....when I used to live in Brooklyn I use to take the ride to his house and pick them up my self to save on shipping. Now that I live upstate NY I cant do that anymore....but he's still one of the best sellers on ebay IMHO!!!!

The pic showed red, no mention of blue. I got a blue one in the mail. A bit ticked. Stickers were a bitch to put on, god i hate stickers...lol. Its a big cheap plastic sword. I guess I knew that but it still feels like I flushed $60 down the toilet....lol.

I hear you, but that is why you request the color you want.

I was happy with red OR blue, but requested red.

And yes, the stickers are a bitch because they are so damned HUGE, but once they are on, and you press out all the air bubbles, you will not have to do it again.

Better than $200+ down the toilet for the "real" thing, eh?

Big cheap plastic sword? Do you reckon it is lacking in quality or just ticked over the blue?

I'm not sure how much quality rating one can give to a 3 piece plastic sword...lol.

The blue doesn't bother me that much. Not enough for it to sway my overall opinion. I would guess its the same quality as the real thing. Its just a big plastic sword and $60 seems overkill in relation to other things I could've spent $60 on (like one of my 3 G1 Superions...lol...thats another story...ha.)!!

I look at the sword as an accessory, and like all accessories, they are a luxury.

Leather is a luxury in your car. The Super God Sword/Master Sword is a luxury for Fort/Brave Maximus' hand.

$60 is cheap compared to the real thing...

Ahhhhh....smell that? That is the smell if imitation leather!

ROFLMAO

It is for this reason that I am seriously considering getting a "Galactic Man" or "ShackWave", as opposed to a genuine "Shockwave", because even a broken, tired, near-death example that happens to wear purple and have a Decepticon logo on his chest will run me AT LEAST $150 on ePay. This is not a series II or III figure we are talking about here: This is an ANCIENT 1984/85 series I figure that has been through more sets of hands than Madonna. So, odds are, he will be loser than the morals of an ancient Roman.

Hell I have 3, yes, THREE C8+ Scorponok bodies, and finding him on ePay is a cinch compared to a TRANSFORMABLE, much less COMPLETE Shockwave.

In all honesty, all I want for my G1 collection is Shockwave, Scourge, and Cyclonus, all C9+ and complete.

I have almost every piece I want. My total count now is 35, plus two protoforms I really should throw away of give to GoodWill. I also have a WST Convoy VS Megatron 2-pack coming, so that's 37, and a WST Hot Rod, 38, and of course, the taking-my-sweet-ass time MISB Star Convoy reissue that one day that just might get here, so that makes 39. Add in some more 6 Titaniums, a couple Alternators, just a few more Masterpieces, and, honestly, I am done.

That is one of the few blessings of NOT being a completionist. I know EXACTLY what I want. I don't need to keep collecting like many. Hell, just go to Plastic Crack, a Transformers Blog, to see how terrible it can be. The dude has over 2,000. He collects repaints and variants, for crying out loud. Just stupid if you ask me.

I once had a collection well over 130. G1s, G2s, BWs, Transmetals, RiD...lots of Microbots, btw...I was OBSESSED with the higher numbers, not the QUALITY of my collection.

So, what the heck does this have to do with this thread on the Super God Sword/Master Sword? Simple: For me, $50-60 for a sword, an accessory for my Brave Max, is worth it to me.

As is MP Megatron, MP SS, MP Prime, the Predaking re-issue giftset, the purple Galvatron D-62 re-issue, etc. It is all about what YOU as a collector want to make of it.

This is why the "I must have them all!" mentality scares me: 1. It is VERY VERY VERY expensive to get every one, of literally THOUSANDS released, all-told, and
2. It, IMHO, is just lame, like some p***ing contest for adults. Kind of like "My Dad can beat up your Dad", "My car is faster than your car", etc.

It is the epittomie of all that sucks with ANY fandom. The people who make it into a relegion.

For me, I LOVE TFs, but, in the end, it is just a hobby.

/End rant

I agree with you 1 bazilion percent. Thats exactly where I am coming from and what I am struggling with.

I buy what I want. The issue I am running into is that I apparantly have a thing for customs, repaints and high quality KO redecos.

However, I definately never ever ever want a collection that numbers in the thousands. I think that huge numbers of mostly crappy TFs obscure the awesome few and just make the whole display look like "umm what the hell is wrong with this person?", if you know what I mean.

Regardless, back on point. I am in search of a C-9 Shockwave myself. It is almost pointless to buy a losse one as it is just like 20 bucks more to just get a mib for 180ish. And I agree, thats a little silly. However, the I don't think the grey shackwave would do it for me. Shockwave is purple, not grey.

Two words for you my friend: Yard Sales. Thats where I'm guessing most of the ebay sellers' stock come from.

However, I have still not been able to get myself to wander into any yard sales. For some reasons, I seem to find the concept of soneone seeing me at one embarrasing. Don't ask why, I do not know. I need to drag my gf along with me for moral support. ;-)

You know, ebay has had some pretty good deals recently. I picked up a near complete G1 Prime, (my 3rd including reissues) for 21 bucks. And the other day I won an auction for all the aerialbots all the constructicons (hook missing a foot), a perfect condition Jetfire, Twintwist, Sludge, a beakless Swoop, Blitzwing with his turret, Warpath, Chopshop, Ramjet body, Beachcomber, Brawn, along with a Wheeljack, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Smokescreen, and tracks that are pretty trashed and might be for parts only. Everything was missing accesories, but stll, all in all quite a stellar deal.

1. I see Shockwave go for WAAYY more than $180 MIB on ePay. Like north of $250.

2. The Junkions would envy that TF haul. excellent work, Bonger. You make Wreck-Gar proud.

For me, diecast feels hefty, expensive, like something of quality...which is part of my love of G1. G1 figures have more presence than most of the newer lines.

At any rate, just PRIORITIZE what figures you MUST have and go from there. The others can wait.

That is how I got a c10 boxed MISB Star Convoy for $64.99 SHIPPED, and not $125 like when he first came out...I waited for the price to fall. Star Convoy was not a priority for me because he was even more of a brick than most G1 TFs, but that is how I got a great deal...I was not waiting for it, it just popped up on a search one night. So I snagged it ASAP and got a STEAL. Just know what you want and go after it, all the Throttlebots and Minicons, they will not go up in value substationally, and they will not matter the same way a MIB G1 Shockwave will.

Go from this point.

That is my general approach to TFs. Patience. If I don't like the price, I do not buy it, no matter how badly I may want it. The only exception to that rule is customs. If I see one I like, I'll go nuts for it, but that is also as I view those as part TF, part sculpture.

North of 250 for a mib Shockwave huh? Thats nuts. That price sure has sky rocketed in the last few months. I wish I hadn't trashed mine as a kid.

Hm, if you want, i can keep an eye out for one at Botcon. I assume under 150 is what you are shooting for?

I am going the ePay route, and am bidding on several right now.

You really want to cry about prices: I bid on a complete MIB Scorponok about a month ago. My max bid was $320.

He sold for $324.

Before that, a MINT complete one out of the box went for #216.

My max bid was $212, and I was at work when it all went down.

So yeah, I would prefer to be decimated that "just" lose out.

Eh. You win some and you lose some.

I had a budget, and I am glad a bidding war did not errupt, with me being stupid and paying more than $200 for a figure. that is one of my rules as a TF collector. I will never pay more than $200 for what is, essentially a TOY.

I have a budget, and I stick to it.

At any rate, I KNEW competition for a cityformer would be very bad, especially one as awesome as G1 Scorponok...the largest Decepticon EVER produced, I might add.

But I got mine now, and I am happy. The only problem I have is finding replacemnt chrome leg guards, the ones mine came with are scuffed very badly, so the orange plastic underneath shows through and it looks terrible. All the lose ones I see are like $25/pair and they look as bad or worse than the ones I have. I wish their was some way to "re-plate" them. Oh well. This just in: I won a MISB C9.6+ box Machine Wars Starscream for under $30 shipped.

He is HUGE. I remember I had one once. He will look badass on my shelf, truly he will.
