Va'al wrote:Overall, I disagree.
Too much trying to fit into one film. Too many characters, too many plotlines that are not actually resolved. What it really felt like was a giant set-up for Civil War and Infinity War.
I'm watching it with other friends tomorrow, and will have a chance to re-evaluate my stance. But on the first viewing, I really was not that impressed - especially after The Winter Soldier.
Fun fact! The facility at the end of the film is actually one the buildings at my university in Norwich!

See that's the thing: at this point,if you haven't seen the majority of the other films, I bet this would be a terrible movie. But Disney assumes (not incorrectly) that most people have seen them.
To me, the reasons you say you didn't care for it are what made it feel like an actual Marvel Miniseries Event. A lot going on, mostly able to stand on it's own without relying too much on past events outside of Avengers, and seeds for more to com. I know the other films have that', but this one really embraced IMO.
That reads like Sly after any of the Bayverse films.Nemesis Maximo wrote:Oh my God you guys, this movie.
This movie, you guys. Oh my God.
I don't ever want to see any other movie. Frikkin awesome. Just...wow. The coolest ever.
Although, I didn't like the opening. I wish it had started differently.
Like, instead of just being in the middle of their fight with Hydra, I wish it would have shown them going to the battle, having a briefing or something.

I just finished watching it, and I agree with this as well. He did really good. I liked the fight with Stark and Hulk, I just wish it was a bit longer. Also, my favorite moment of the whole film was when Vision picked up Mjolnir. To me that was unexpected and really made me smile. My least favorite part was how they left Banner and Widow's story kind of unfinished. Overall, it was a lot of fun. IMO, not as good as the 1st, but definitely fun.Nemesis Maximo wrote:Zeek99g wrote:I loved Age of Ultron. It was a fantastic movie. Spader did a good job as Ultron.
I love how he kind of emulated RDJ, as if Ultron was in fact Tony Stark Gone Wrong. He had that cocky, snarky, playful attitude. Really well done.

That's why it was my favorite moment. They all argued whether Vision was good or bad, and that was the most clear-cut way of settling it. I loved the look on all their faces afterwards. I did miss 1 thing: Stark didn't play any AC/DC.Nemesis Maximo wrote:That part where Vision just casually hands Thor Mjolnir...there was cheering and screaming when that happened.
