As such, it's entirely possible to put the toy in this form, although it doesn't rest evenly on a flat surface.

It was never meant to properly work. Like Sixshot's seventh "Wingwolf" mode and Black Zarak's "Hydra" mode it's a "fan mode" by the animators after playing with the toy.

As many times as I've watched Masterforce, I guess I don't know what additional "large jet mode" to which tfwiki.net is referring. Most likely because I'm not that familiar with the Overlord toy other than from pictures.
Do any of you know of where there's a screen shot of this online or a picture of the toy in this alternate configuration that is not in the instruction booklet?
alldarker wrote:Finally, the pictures of Overlord's 'large plane mode' combined in toy mode! As I stated earlier, it's a reasonable stable mode, although it misses proper landing gear (normally the pins at the back of the regular plane form the rear landing gear), and is dependent on the stiffness of the joints of those pins (although I've noticed they usually are quite stiff).
I also took some pictures of the two tank halves switched around: it's not how it's shown in the Masterforce cartoon, but looks pretty good anyhow. The square indents in the tank halves fit with square pegs on the plane, allowing the tank halves to be placed at stable 90 degree increments, without being able to spin on their axis.
I hope these have answered your question!

Hello me from 3 years ago!
Finally getting a chance to do a gallery of this. Thanks for the pics of your Overlord, alldarker. They're finally helping me out.
