I mean every shot he is in, he is smirking. I like Prowl, always have, but from this mini-series alone, I feel that he is being turned into some kind of yes-man douche.

"Turning?"

Yeah, turning. Prowl was always an uptight yes man (something that shocked me when I first read the comics after only ever seeing the cartoon for over 10 years) but he wasn't a total douche

Although I do feel he may have had more "fun" under Sentinel Prime than Optimus.

See I feel that Prowl has been incorrectly drawn facially. He should not be smirking when they are smacking Megatron down, that's just not him.

He's very serious and uptight, that type of smirk seems to be more appropriate for Screamer and the cons who enjoy their work very much.

Just my two.

Well my friend Tim and I, engaged in so much hopped, fanfic making comic geek love we almost forgot to argue over the freshly arrived Megatron Origin #3 comics. I got the Alex Milne esoteric cover. Not to state I don't love Marcelo Matere's oblique punk rock statement glyphic number. Cos I do! I'm going to be heretical again aren't I? I liked it. The colouring change on pages 16, 17, 19 threw me a little and the immediacy of the Decepticons being taken down was quite the shocker but all in all a really likable piece with ripples and influence for and from all Transformer comic houses not just IDW. The cyber-trophy cannibalism is like a swift tip of the cap to Rodimus' flashback in Five Faces of Darkness in which we are shown the Constructicons building Megatron, evoking that almost Vampiric aesthetic quality the Decepticons took on post-movie. The balcony speech reminded me of a piece of Dreamwave artwork chronicling the Decepticon origin, but from a new more crowd orientated angle. What particularly tickled me was the way we see Elita/Ariel's, Orion's and Alpha Trion's faces but not that of the Magnus/Dion model, giving him a whole: "1337 ninja ghost face killa" Quality. The slush/slash/snuggle elements between Starscream and Megatron weren't so immediately apparent with Eric Holme's script and Neil Uyetake's lettering in place, but the final panels of Megatron's face falling as he was seemingly betrayed were almost tragic romance. I say seemingly betrayed because Starscream does state that she/he can guarantee not only hir future but Theirs aswell. So yes, really liked it. I think and this is the Space Monkey within talking, but I would've loved the 'Cons to have pulled a stunt like Tyler leads everyone on in Fight Club. Right down to an elastic band around Prowl's winky.
He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. To uses his powers to the fullest, though, he's gotta be feelin' good vibrations; bad karma can seriously harsh his mellow, y'know?

I thought I would see a whole new persona in Starscream, but no, it's still the same guy we know. And Megatron betrayed him first? Ordering to have him killed and all, for knowing too much I guess..? Or, could be part of the whole plan? Anyway, I'm confused again.

We all are. Hopefully issue #4 will wrap things up in a pretty bow, and everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief as we bask in the glory of our knowledge.

And let's hope they dont try to retcon anything that happened in this series. Since Furman would have had to give the origins the tick of approval, I doubt they'll ever have to, but you never know.

You know why I love Megatron?

Cos' deep down he's a Pinko Commie deeply in need of Anger Management and the fact he appears to be at least 25% Autobot...

Look closely at the Milne preview art, page 6.

Nah, at the end of the day I think Prowl just realises the nature of light and life on Cybertron, almost a scientific form of immortality for computative life forms.

Death is but an illusion, or better yet another stage of hologram?

you know... from them not really showing what sentinelPrime can do, I don't think the 4th issue will end with him being killed by Megatron.

Don't get me wrong I'm expecting a frame-bending oil-spilling climactic fight, just not a extinguished spark.

Maybe if they hyped SentinelPrime up during these origins like i think moonbase2 said he would have served his story purpose and could then die adding to Megatron's fame.

I think that with the little snippet of Optronix/Orionpax this could lead to a Optimus Origin series. Dion could die in a resource raid and Sentinel Prime later tries to reason with a Megatron he realizes he can no longer defeat. Orion is saved by Alphatrion, not upgraded, which brings his name to the table of picking a new Prime when Sentinel is finally killed.

As for no Dion in the pic... maybe he's out actually working for a living opposed to Orions cozy office job.

side note: From the toon art of Dion as Optimus' friend I find it interesting how strongly he favors Hotrod's friend Springer. His altmode vaguely resembles a recycling center's truck but then he worked in transport right?

:P or maybe he's the generic mech behind E1 and OP

Ahh but Milne's covers often contain elements not included within the comic itself.

Spotlight Galvatron for example. Open the book, not a Sharkticon, Dweller or Starscream in sight...

Yeah, but what is shown on Megatron: Origin #4 has to happen, otherwise the timeline gets screwed up.
