Alpha Trion was considered his father in G1. So, maybe.

I wonder why Prime wasn't named Orion Trion.

Illegitimate son? :-?

Due to his rather unique birth, Grimlock has a slow but endearing speech pattern, which can easily make you forget he's Godzilla with style. And weapons.

Yes. Yes it does. It's like Luke and Leia, except Prime and Elita know they're brother and sister.

In G1, Megatron was unrelated. He was built long before Alpha Trion build Orion Pax into Optimus Prime. It's part of both their backstories.

I think they were related in some way, I noticed that at one point Megatron said during one of the times he helped Prime "Just like old times" at least it sounded like that but don't quote me on that it was on Youtube and the sound was bad. Also it just seems like they are to alike to be unrelated I mean they seem to be able to predict one another in battle.

When studying someone in combat or in everyday interactions with coworkers you notice patterns and how they test you, react to you and so on...they've fought each other before they came to earth so they are familiar with one another in combat but that does not mean a relationship either biological or created by the same entity in the sense you mean.

As much as I ship M/OP (If you don't know what I'm talking about, DON'T ASK), I'm gonna have to agree with the whole non-repentant thing. And note that, like Star Wars, the Movie Canon trumps everything else.

Sure, one of the supplemental materials note that Metatron killed 'their' (their being his and Prime's) father - but it also notes that he eats Sparks (OM NOM NOM). And if you're going to bring in that kind of supplemental material - do please look at everything on the back of toy packaging, too? Nightstrike Megs wut, or whatever he's called for Fast Action Battler?

Anyway. My point is. As much as the slashy fangirl in me would love Megatron to have asked for forgiveness...the sadly rational and plot-driven part says 'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmno'.

I figure it wasn't so much a 'please forgive me' sort of thing as 'Jeez, I'm a f*cking idiot' or 'Sweet doughnutting Primus, WTF was I thinking?'

It's not a fangirl thing. (I absolutely hate that I know the meaning to the word "Shipping") From a writer's standpoint, it'd be a pretty good move for any character to express regret before death. Star Wars did it, Citizen Kane did it, Metal Gear Solid did it. For a dramatic movement, it's a great idea.

Those are all really good movies although I think I'm the only one to hate metal gear solid with all the sneaking around it's just too boring for me.

To me though the villain asking for forgiveness just before their death is just way too cliche to me.

um, if Megatron "ate" their dad...what happened to Mommatron Prime.
on another note my brother made a joke about Megatron and GODZILLA being brothers, it was lolirific.
