That guy is way too underrated.
QFT
He's like Shockwave but as a headmaster with triple changer capabilities and unbreakable claws.
I don't see how Fortmax or even Metroplex could beat a Shockwave that was the same size as them. Marvels' version of Scorpo is about even with Shockwave, having fought to a draw. IDWs version is more powerful than Ultra Magnus. Scorponok is the closest one to achieving a victory against a leader class TF and he was the same size as his opponent in both cases.
Fortmax in G1 toon continuity beat Scorponok for two reason's. Spike wasn't a nebulon pacifist, and 80's toon villians just can't win. The
headmaster series of Japan has a version that falls in the 'super robo' class, effectively beating any similar TF that is not in this class. The thing is IDW's leader tier seem to be in this class and Scorponok is likely included considering how he handled Ultra Magnus. Even with Spike, Japan's Fortmax is the bigger threat.

he even has link's sword...
Metroplex is slow... too slow to fight a Japan's Fortmax. He likely has the best firepower but they are all highly energon consuming. At the same size he really should not win.
Trypticon... Has he ever been seen at full power? His win record is pretty low, though most of his loses are based on his power reserves

or being tricked into a body of water.
Hypnotic optic lasers are his best means of victory 'cause his hands are useless. Strangely seems faster than Metroplex. Marvels Trypi rex is the smartest version...
If Japan's Fortmax is in play then it's only fair to place
Masterforce Scorponok up to contend. He's a
little over powered too...
So... back on the varied Englished series... theres Marvels leader of decepticons following the underbase incident or IDWs criminal scientist who is likely the mysterious figure currently acting as puppeteer to the Machination.
IDWs Scorponok for the win.
