Oh contrare mon frair, their cover was not blown. Remember the massive cover up that took place during the credits at the end of the movie.

And they were only out in Michigan City. No ones even heard of Michigan City so you would believe anything someone from Michigan City would say anyway.

on topic: Yeah, I wouldn't do Dinobots either if it was my movie. I'd be afraid they wouldn't fit. Combiners would fit though.

i really dont care if the dino bots are in the sequel or not it just really wouldnt fit into the story to much but if by a chance bay does include dinots or dinobot they should have the cybertronian forms from the war within series instead of the dinosaour modes that would be good but if bay does include the dinobots or dinbot in the film bay is the man that can make it work in the upcoming sequel.

cliffjumper, or hotrod are the autobots i would like to see in the second and the decepticons combiner, soundwave or shockwave one of the 3

the video still wont play, it just comes up and crashed and there's no text in the written version. Id love to see Hot Rod in 2, but if they are putting in Soundwave, why not the autobot opposite Blaster???? They always seem to be the nemisis of each other, so why not again?

Michigan City, the fictional city Josh Duhamel said they needed to get to for the Air Force to extract the cube.

And please explain how combiners would work and NOT dinobots. As a previous post stated, Scorponok had no alt mode and he fit in just fine.

damn i wanted to see the dinobots ah well aslong as prowl is in the movie i'll be happy

President Bush also sticks "with his gut."

Anyhow- with Bay at the helm we can be sure to see a deficit in creativity, coolness, and smarts.

However:

-We will see a robot actually defecate.

-Big giggly robot breasts (and plenty of humor directed at them).

-and Optimus Prime do a little rap about how much he likes mountain dew.

The fact that they can't figure out a neet way to get some of the coolest transformers into their "real world" is only the beginning.

Since the first one was such a success (go team!) we can look forward to more of the same format for the sequel:

-More humans. People loved that Shia, so why not increase his screen time? Cuts down on budget too.

-Less Transformers. It costs money to pay actors, and takes a lot of thinkin to write lines for them, especially when you do the writin after everything's been shot. So why not just cut out most of the speaking robots? Except for the ones that say, "Me Grimlock love being GM truck."

-More Robots. Ah, but people love the smashy smashy- so make a bunch of easily clonable robot "species"- sorta like the critters in the matrix, and make armies of them for the American Military to fight. They could even transform in Kodak Cameras, Ipods, and Mountain Dew Despensors. Sweet!

-More Military. Half the movie will be about the American Military and how the surge in Iraq (that's in the Middle East) is going great.

-And finally, Optimus will die (in a knod to the fans).

So yeah, I wouldn't worry about the Dinobots.

As I said before I don't trust Bay so anything I hear about the movie I'm not paying attention to

He did not say yes or no to the Dinobots. He kept it very vague.

Combiners can work. Robots with vehicles as a disguise, they turn into robots - only the robots combine to form a bigger robot. They got disguises, it works. If cars can transform into robots, it's not a stretch to say that those robots can then, in turn, assemble to make a bigger robot.

i have gone through alot of the transformers saga in my term of what i saw.dinobot dieing, rhinox turning into tankor, cybertron going technorganic,finding out blackarchnia goes back to the decepticons, the death of jazz and many other things, but when you go and take out that dinobots sar out of the lightof transformers 2 youve just got transformers 1 again but with more robots. but i can see why michael bay doesnt want the dinobots, i think is because it would be too hard for the animators to make a protoformed trex or triceratops.

Now I think it would be better for the movie to have the dinobots but maybe we'll see em next movie.

I love how people try to justify fictional robots cannot fit in with a bunch of other fictional robots in a fictional movie that can supposedly take place on realstic Earth...it's just too much, giant cubes that create life and then can fold in upon themselves to become about 1/1000 the size...that's definitely believable.

I have a hard time believing that BS or that there should be no Unicron, or combiners.

I really hope new species means like Insecticons, and not BW guys. But if Dinobots don't fit in, I don't know how Insecticons, Predacons, or any other animal like TF will work.

i can see a scene where theres a T Rex rampaging through a dark city streets, like in the lost world: jerastic park 2, or godzilla. but instead of it being organic, it is machanical like movie prime and colored like jazz and megatron. and between the gaps in his armor , you can see a machanical skeleten, gears, gyros, and other moving parts. and i see red glowing eyes. the autobots are trying to hunt him down in the dark city to keep thier cover from being blown. he moves so quick through the streets, that even after he smashes cars and buildings, people still didnt see him clearly enough to know whats going on

So what "other species" would be feasable for the big screen? Quintesons? I could kind of imagine how they would look... Pretenders!? Humans that transform? Would they look like the bad guys from the Terminator sequels? But what constitutes different species in Tansformers? Predacons? Maximals? Dinobots? I think Bay would be a damned fool to miss an easy cash cow like the Dinobots! I mean, Hasbro must have some influence on what they want in the new films; they are only in it to sell lots of toys right? And besides, what self respecting "5 and up" year old doesn't like robot dinosaurs smashing a city to hell?

Someone said their cover is blown - why is it? Just cos some people know they're there doesn't mean a thing cos they can choose new disguises and infiltrate society all over again. This also means that new Prime and BBee toys will be needed.

I'll agree with others in this thread that this is not a rumor spread by an unknown source like the first leaked treatment but I still have to reserve a pinch of salt at the same time to cover my bases.
I've not seen the video yet as my speakers have been blown for a while now grrrr, but by "other species" IF this holds true I wonder does he mean Quintessons or even some other species of non transformer types ?

right ive finally seen the video, and he doesnt answer the question about the dinobots. He just changes the subject and says more species, that could mean predacons, quints, dino's, anything. Im not sure where the "he said no dinobots" came from, he simply ignored the question

OK...This must be the speculation thread..

Possible logical explanation for Dinobots on earth: Megatron did NOT lose control and crash, as the humans in Sector 7 believed. He was chased and ambushed by the Dynobots/Dinobots who were a larger, more powerful breed of Transformer (in order to counter Megsy's size and strength). After finding out Megatron still functioned after their colossal battle, the Bots return to Earth to finish the job.

Possible logical explanation for multiple species: obviously not all Transformers are the same size (see Frenzy); it is logical to assume that larger AND smaller bots may exist- some with advanced personality program (Prime, Barricade, etc) and some with more primitive forms of thought bordering on instinct (see Nokia-bot and Dispensor).

Possible logical explanation for a beach scene in Transformers 2: Meghan Fox in a bikini...nuff said!

i'd just like to point out he DID NOT say that thier were no dinobots he didnt say no directly and his face moved very slightly like mine does when i try keeping a secret sooo... their will be something in it dino-like
