I would really have to go with any of the 2010 Autobots, particularly those that were featured prominently in the '86 movie.

When I was younger, I would often turn off the movie after Starscream's abdication of his short-lived throne. How bittersweet: my favorite part of the movie was watching my favorite Transformers get killed. After that, you have the likes of these inferior Autobots battling Unicron; they could have at least saved a few of the old guard 'bots to die nobly fighting Unicron.

Then the TV series came along and I just found all these Autobots annoying and just not as likeable as the original good guys. Rodimus, Blurr, and Wheelie are easy targets, but Kup's old battle-scarred curmudgeon role was played SO much better by Ironhide and Kup's alt mode always looked awful to me. Arcee seemed like unnecessary "girl power" pandering and I find it hard to see how she(or any of these Autobots) could survive the superior strength and fire power of the likes of Galvatron and Cyclonus.

very few from seasons 1 & 2 were saved, however, some of the already mentioned annoying ones from those two seasons were the ones that were saved.

Mmm. I have to admit I'm just the opposite. I found Kup a lot more likeable than Ironhide. Kup seemed like a crotchety *mentor*... he might grumble loudly about the young 'uns, but it's because deep down he wishes they'd grow up to their potential. Ironhide, on the other hand, just came off as wanting to punch all the young 'uns... kind of like Principal Strickland in the Back to the Future movies. "Get off my lawn, slacker!" *shotgun blast* Not as sympathetic to me.

Good Gods!!! I thought I was the only one who shut the movie off after Starscream bought the farm! To me, everything after that kinda sucked!
And the post-86-movie shows irritated me a bit as well...and I was not the only one, since they yanked the show off it's prime after-school time slot and slammed into a 6am time slot! Kinda a message to the show-makers that the general veiwing audience think the show suddenly took a trip to the Land of Suck!

oh wow.... so is it bad if I admit that i'm a huge fan of most of the stuff that happened after the movie? Of course you had some crappy episodes but some episodes were really great!

Five faces of darkness is a great mini series that didn't need to be stretched into five episodes, three would of been enough. I loved the Decepticons as a kid and it really bugged me that all of them looked like crap in the episode! It was nice to see the writers acknowledge past events in an episode, which is something they hardly did in the past.

No, it's not bad...I know a lot of people who like the post-movie seasons, but they are a minority, really..no shame in being in the minority!

I remember watching the post-movie episodes hoping that THIS WAS THE DAY my favorite Autobots would come back and all would be well. Yeah, they finally showed up(at least in name) one day.....the return of Prime and the mausoleum episode. Off the corpses of my beloved heroes of yesteryear went.....right into the sun!!

It was at that point I knew I should stop waiting for things to turn around(much like I stopped waiting for Zelda to kiss Link in those Friday episodes of The Legend of Zelda that were on the Mario Bros. show some time around the late 80's). So most of my TF attention focuses on the Marvel comics, which really started taking off.

I remember one issue where they did a script adaptation of one of the 2010 episodes, something to do with the Quintesons and broadcasting images on the Junk planet or something like that. Not only was the issue terrible, but the editor was overwhelmed with mail NOT to do any more cartoon-related storylines!

I should have added the Quintessons to my list of annoying G1 characters...they were HORRID! I hated them in the movie as well! Everything that comes with them sucks the suck of a thousand sucks too....Sharkticons, Wheelie, the whole lot!

I guess I'm in the minority as well. On the one hand, Season 3 was swingier in terms of quality than the previous two seasons. On the other hand, when it was good, it was really good; IMHO Season 3 had several of the best eps of the series.

I have to admit I disagree about Galvatron, though. Sort of ironic that just when I actually wanted a second-in-command to take over, Cyclonus wasn't interested.

Good argument and I like the Strickland reference, though I think Ironhide had more hair.

I think what really sticks out with Kup for me is during the movie, Prime and a good many of the Autobots are dead, Autobot City is in ruin, and the remaining Autobots are being chased by Galvatron and his cronies, but Kup cannot shut up for a moment and starts regaling everybody with stories about petro rabbits and such. Some levity is nice and all, but the timing isn't very good and you have to wonder how tiresome this guy and his(I'm sure oft-repeated) stories become after a few million astro seconds.

Kup kind of reminds me of a senile old guy who would start blurting out the time he was *really* enjoying the company of a hot Italian number while on leave during World War II. It's maybe a great story and all, but when you're saying it out loud during a funeral, it comes across as maybe a teensy bit inappropriate.

You guys know what pissed me off about the movie? The hair metal when my Autobots were being slaughtered. How effin rude.

And yeah, being regaled of war stories in such a time...it seems like the whole movie had no respect for the classic characters.

I actually enjoyed the soundtrack during the massacre. Granted, my favorite character(Prowl) and a few other favs of mine(Ratchet and Ironhide) are *sniff* killed, but I thought the song was kind of cool and it really shows the Decepticons as truly the murderous rogues that they were. Because after all, nothing quite says evil as not only doing something evil, but doing it set amidst a hair metal soundtrack.

Plus, I really cheered when Prime gives the 'Cons the business end of his whooping stick after what they did to the Autobots.

Still, it would have been nice for, say, Prowl to kill one of the 'Cons during that battle, just to even the score somewhat. He could have shot one of the Reflector guys in the head and sent him floating in space or something....it's not like he would have been missed, the 'Cons still would have had 2 others.

Sticking with the *annoying* theme, what I also found disrespectful is how several key season 1 Autobots didn't even *appear* in the movie. You give all this face time to Perceptor, those Junkion dorks, and these newly aerial Dinobots, but you can't even give a token appearance for Mirage, Sideswipe, or Trailbreaker? I know there were some storyboards that were scrapped featuring some of these characters(and their deaths, I'm sure), but come on......even Grapple was shown for a few seconds.

I'm just mad that they killed off likable characters in favor of absolute doo doo ones. In principle, I will not watch season 3.

haha, i hate springer.....he really annoys me, and i cant say i like arcee that much either lol. Blurr, Wheelie and daniel drive me nuts too. as for rodimus, i love hot shot, but hate rodimus. To me, season 3 + 4 could have been a different story altogether, i dunno..going on whilst season 1 and 2 were going on, kinda running side by side, and then finishing with the movie, at least they wouldnt have to kill all the good old bots. (apart from having blaster in there, hehe soo glad hes in there still, because in my opinion he was underused in 1 + 2)

On the Autobots side, I'd say I like Kup, Ultra Magnus, the Technobots (especially Lightspeed and Nosecone), Blaster's Cassettes, and Wreck-Gar out of the season 3 characters. I also find Rodimus more *interesting* than Optimus, though I don't know if I'd say I *like* him. Finally, I think Marissa Faireborn is the only human character in the series who qualifies as "awesome". (Although I like Sparkplug.)

On the Decepticons side, there's Cyclonus, Scourge & the Sweeps, and Octane.

And yes, there are some previous season characters who get more screentime... Blaster, Perceptor (I like him, so nyah), the Aerialbots, the Protectobots, the Combaticons...

Maybe it's just because I'm new, so I watched all the episodes in one go instead of their normal drawn-out broadcast at the "appropriate" age? Most of the characters I like/found memorable are second season characters, so most of them didn't die and got at least some air time in the third season. :>

Galvatron was my favoite Character as a child. Just no BS in him whatsoever. He blew up starscream within mins of his creation and would fight anyone at anytime without backup!

I believe the episode is called Web World? but he showed allot of character in that one. I haven't seen that episode in ages but I still remember his line..

I wasn't a big fan of Cyclonus..... if Galvatron didn't end up leading, i'd of loved to have seen soundwave take over.

I hate and loathe Galvatron, but Webworld was one of my favorite post-movie eps (the only one worth watching IMHO)...I think it is because I like Cyclonus and it shows he actually cared for Galvatron and for the Decepticons as a whole.

Has to be Rodimus Prime. First of all, most of the bitching about Blurr, Tracks, Warpath, etc, centers around them having a voice or vocal characteristic you don't like. Personally, I think those things are pretty cool. Compare it to the Singapore dubs of the Japanese cartoons (which appeared to be dubbed by two people) and then tell me that the variety of voices like Tracks' and Warpath's was annoying.

So why Rodimus Prime? Because, like Wheelie, he represents the problem with Season 3: focusing on a very dull or annoying charactrs. If you don't like Tracks, not really a problem. Don't watch Auto Bop or Making Tracks and you don't have a problem. Find Rodimus Prime's incessant whining about how crap he is annoying? Well, that's about 50% of Season 3 pretty much unwatchable.

In second place to Rodimus, gotta be Arcee. Did nothing. Brought nothing to any story. Had less personality than the various fembots from Search For Alpha Trion. Why why why why WHY do people keep making such a damn fuss about Robo-Barbie? Women should be insulted that the main repesentative of their gender in Transformers is this bland, pointless, metal-plated fashion doll.

On a side note, I really don't understand how people can say so many of the characters they've chosen are annoying. When did Springer get enough screentime to make an impression? In the Movie, he came across as a fairly well-rounded warrior/jock type (who I was rooting for to become Autobot leader over Hot Rod), then Season 3... nothing. Few background appearences, and occasionally gets captured or damaged.

its not his looks that put me off him, i dunno what it is, he just plain annoys me, season 3 does seem to be written by totally different people, and like they thrw it together in about 20minutes...shame really.
