The general explaination is to give the viewer someone that they can relate to. However I have never in the 20 plus years since G1 started met a father/son team of auto mechanics who took a job on an oil rig, and pal around with robots so I'm not sure how I was suppose to relate to spike and sparkplug in the first place.

I am currently watching Energon. From what episodes I've seen so far, none of the humans seem too annoying... yet.

Man, that would be badass if they made a CGI series out of War Within. That would rock.
