I loved it. The only problem I had with it was the error in the subtitling of Brawl's name. The subtitles used his placeholder name "Devastator". Luckily, Jazz called him by his proper name before attacking him.

Yeah, that was silly. At the con the guys said that they did notice the Devastator subtitle before the final cut and told someone about it. The person they told either didn't care or just forgot.

Unrated dvd's are way overrated. Unrated doesn't mean anything other than that that version of the film was not rated by CARA (Classification and Rating Administration) which by the way is a voluntary system. No filmmaker is required to do it but they all do to increase viewership.

Unfortunately most of the time they just add a deleted scene or two and call it unrated to make you think its a better version than the orginal.

well ill say all the unrated dvd's i have , have around 10-15 minutes of unseen footage... so i understand this. i managed a sam goody for years. and if a movie isnt rated. who is going to show it? if this was an unrated movie in theaters. i doubt parents would take the kids..

Its voluntary but most Theaters in the US will not show an unrated flim. Which means if you actually want a theater release its basically a must have. As for Unrated DVDs that is pretty much what they do. I pretty much ignore the term Directors cut or Unrated on a DVD and jsut look at whats actually added/included on it. Some like Daredevil are practically new and better movies with the Directors cuts, others prove why stuff was cut in the first place.

Warning! Warning! Warning! Spoilers contained within! Do not Read! Unless you've seen the Movie or don't care about spoilers! Warning! Spoilers!

Just got back. Perfectly done. As soon as the transforming started I forgave Bay for screwing everything up. My wife went with me...7 months pregnant. My Daughter loved it! She kept moving the whole time!
The fight scenes were the best! The Transformations during the fights were superb. All the details midfight were hard to follow, but not impossible. My wife couldn't keep up, but any transfan that dreams transformations can. You will be awed by how in depth the transformation are. I loved the fact that they put the Decepticons in the mariana trench. Jazz being killed sucked. Bumblebee kicking ass with no legs rocked. BB was the MVP and star. Prime was badass at points. His Energon Sword was a real nice touch. I'm sad I can't afford to see it again. Hopefully it will be at the dollar theatre before too long. It will be awesome to have on dvd to watch some things in slowmo. Can't wait for TF2 and the return of SS. The only thing I didn't like was no extras or sneak previews after the credits.

okay a few plot holes need to be covered up,
1) scorpoknok is still alive.
2) so is barricade
they never went over what happened with them, so obviously they may have something to do with the second movie, rejuvination or something?

movie?

Postby Dark_Fool » Wed Jul 04, 2007 7:28 am

It seems I must be the only one here who thought this film was crap. The most redeeming part was Frenzy. I did not like the lack of character development for the 'bots. Nor that the 'cons barely grunted bar Megatron. Let's face it, who bloody cared about the humans? Anyone notice that even though the city was getting trashed when an aerial shot was done the city was completely intact?
Bay should be shot.
The only thing I salute is the design of the transformers.

Just got back from seeing it. It was just awesome. The audience I was with thought the same. It seemed everyone laughed & cheered at all the right spots. I will try and see it again on the big screen. That's something I've never done for any movie. Here's waiting for TF2 in another couple of years!

You forgot to mention starscream, who was seen flying back to space during the credits,
also: barricades parts were seen being dumped into the ocean, most notably his door.

The only issue I had was that some of the fight scenes were hard to follow with the quick cuts. Also I would have liked to see more of BCrusher and Brawl but oh well.

I have a question though...SOILER AlERT if you havn't seen it yet...

Did Prime crush that last little shard of the Allspark he took out of Meg's chest or keep it? I wasn't quite sure. I got the impression he crushed it though.

I did. I thought they were very funny, and portrayed fairly realistically (well, realistic would have meant everyone running away while screaming upon first sight of the robots, but you know what I mean).

I thought it was pretty cool for the most part. The stuff that bothered me the most was...
Spoilers...

first off I agree with dark fool about the lack of character development especially on the decepticons.

The change from robot to vehicle annoyed me because when they were in robot mode they had all kinds of scratches and battle damage and then when they transformed it was like they were brand new.

Jazz dying sucked but again its not a saturday morning cartoon.

Primes mouth still bothers me

kind of dissapointed that Sams name wasn't Spike or at least Spike as a nickname.

Some of that stuff is pretty picky I know but I did really like the special effects with the transformations and weapons. Prime saying One shall stand and one shall fall was awesome (I had forgotten about that) . Also primes flames didn't look as stupid as I thought they might. overall I liked it and would definately see it again.... probably not for 8.50 a ticket though (and that was the matinee)

He didn't crush it. He simply closed his hand around it and pocketed it.

Well, even though it wasn'e heard in the movie, Sam's nickname among his classmate is supposedly "Spike". Some of the vaarious write-ups on the movie mentioned this. It might be mentioned in one of the novelizations or comics too, but I am not sure.

As for Prime's face without his mouth plate. I loved the mouth. His face was the most human of all of the characters. On top of that, they all had moving mouths. For him not to have one would have been out oif place.

The only problem I had with the movie is the subtitles translating the Cybertronian speech of the Decepticons, gave Brawl the wrong name. It called him by the placeholder name "Devastator" which Hasbro confirmed was an error.

I loved it when Bumblebee "lubricated" on Agent Simmons. That had me in stitches.

I know they all had mouths but still almost all of prime's incarnations as a toy have had a moving plate for a mouth including the orginal cartoon. At least they included it as a "battle mask" Also did anyone get the inside joke about the robots being Japanese? I thought that was pretty funny.
