Anyway, because of that, I should think that they would make sense together -- either as a two-pack or as two lower priced (for a Masterpiece, at least) individual releases. Yes, we're not talking a straight repaint here. And not even a minor retool. But they would at least, I should think, be very similar designs with a lot of the same internal construction. Almost like they could be the same internal skeleton with different shells over them.
But alas, personally, barring an official announcement proving me wrong, I've given up on a Masterpiece Bumblebee. Volkswagen is too stubborn in thinking that by denying Hasbro or Takara the license, it will somehow make it easier for them to also deny a dirty past that, at this point -- beyond the whole historic value of remembering such things -- no one really cares about any more. (We get it. You're ashamed. But unless your current company president is growing a toothbrush style moustache and advocating the genocide of an entire people, I think no one will be upset if you allow a toy company to use one of your vehicle designs for a toy that might carry a gun!)
Edit: Oh my, I hope I didn't just somehow invoke Godwin's Law here...

i really don't think they'd package bumblebee and cliffjumper into a two pack.. only because of the branding. nissan is prominently displayed on the front of prowl, bluestreak, and smokescreens boxes. same goes for Lamborghini with sideswipe and red alert. if bumblebee and cliffjumper were both VW cars.. then i would say that it'd be possible.
i think, if MP20 IS bumblebee, they'll probably charge between $50-$60 for it.. i'm basing that on the alternity bumblebee. Alternity bumblebee had a good amount of die cast.. and was also a licensed vehicle. it was also just about the size i'd like MP bumblebee to be.
now they could hike up the price if they added some decent accessories. i've read people wanting a jetpack or helipack.. i personally would love a fully transformable spike wearing his suit from the movie. . i ALWAYS wished i had one of those suits.. i can't even count all of the times i'd lay in my bed and wrap blankets around me in such a way that i felt like i was wearing one of those suits.
